Not even counting the game which was awsome...the entire pregame was great. Anyone who hasn't been to a night game with the new lighting features needs to go. Nothing like it anywhere

I was at day game earlier in the year and saw a sample of the new lighting but Neyland Stadium at night with the entire stadium under orange lights and and all of the things they can do with the lights is worth the price of admission alone.

I was in the upper deck and the flyover was powerful up there - you could feel it. There was a strange and disturbing pre-game prayer, but what're ya gonna do, ya know?
They have figured it out. The pre-game lighting it was like a futuristic rock concert. They "introduced" the starting line-up on the Jumbotron treating all the players as rock-stars. When the team ran through the T, only the T was lit up with spotlights, everything else was dark. These giant, Hollywood-style spot-lights randomly moving through the crowd throughout the night. Orange-only hue encircling the stadium. Insane fireworks. And hard-core rap/hip-hop music all setting the most badass tone I'd never even dared imagine.
Then, I hate to have to say it, but after all this modern hyping-up of the crowd, the Pride of the Southland marching band comes out and it was noticeable how comparably unexciting and corny the old-school traditional pageantry of college football seemed. I know they have to stick with it based on tradition, but it was like having James Taylor play an interlude in the middle of a Rage Against the Machine concert.
I was happy because I didn't want the stress of a close game. I earned a lot of respect and appreciation for Hooker's game. Aside from maybe 2 errant passes, his execution, from processing the field, running through his progressions, decision making (run or pass), and delivering the ball really jumped out to me live more-so than on TV. I'm finally getting past the "is he really that good?" phase. He is. I'm already worried about next year (the Milton era?).
I was also wondering what a season-ticket holder would think if they were transported from the 60's in a time machine to that game. They might not have survived - cardiac arrest.

Here goes: I have seen several Georgia tweets and on some of their football boards complaining about the 3:30 kickoff time. Why? I am old enough to remember that that was the best time for football viewing on TV. Both CBS and ABC have those as premier game times for viewing.
I hate waiting all day for a game. Drives me crazy. I really want games to start. But with the noon start which I like for the fact we start playing after the game I get bored and am ready for the next week. But with the 3:30 time you don’t wait all day and by the time the game ends around 7:00 or later you have time to come down before bed. Now I like watching other games but I spend most of that time just rooting for the team I dislike to lose. Just not as satisfying. So I prefer the 3:30 game over the 7:30 game. I know younger people like the night games. So what do you all like? Of course I understand the LSU night thing. They just need to be hammered (like Pelosi) to get up for the game. Vol fans are rowdy enough without the liquor.

I assume they think night games are louder due to the increased alcohol intake. And probably, they've figured out the light-show, too, and it's just a way more dynamic environment.
I am old enough to remember that that was the best time for football viewing on TV.

I don't love it either, but everyone's invested in the night-game experience.

Night if it's at home - earlier the better on the road.

You ARE the premier game of the day. Which also means you are relevant.
The CBS into music.....nothing better, and gets my goosebumps going every time, thinking I'm about to witness a classic. That was true for our game against Bama.

Night games are tougher on the visiting team as they are forced to set around a hotel room all day while the home team is in familary settings . I have no idea why Georgia fans would be offended by a 3:30 kick-off as that is always the feature game of the week.

But if it's indeed a factor that the visiting team sits around in an unhomelike setting, the night game might be an advantage for the home team.
Personally, I doubt any of this is worth a single point in the score on average.

I doubt Georgia fans enjoy the light show at night games as it was announced that Neyland Stadium is the first stadium in the country that has that capability.

Seems like a kind of light show to me anyway, some fans may like seeing this. Either way, I personally don't think it matters with the game outcome.

My apologies , I was wrong ( not the first time). UT has promoted their new lighting as the only one of it's kind in a US stadium so their system must be unique in some way from other stadiums with diferent lighting systems
