If we win -- a BIG if...
it will mark the beginning of the end for Saban. A turning point.
Bama's dominance has coincided with our ineptitude. They don't have the same story arc if they faced a competent to very good UT every year. Their aura of indefeatability is greatly reduced by losing even 1/3 of their games to UT, mid-schedule, over the last 16 years.Nothing lasts forever. In THIS world, anyway. Saban's uncanny run is beginning to peter out. You can sense it. Whatever comes next, there WILL be a diminishment....If we win tomorrow, it is an announcement. Not that there's a new sheriff in town, necessarily. But that the Saban era is over. He might coach for a couple of years longer or more. But Bama fans are going to have to adjust.
