1991 Florida State (11-2)
- Preseason #1, won first 10 games until losing to #2 Miami in Wide Right I
- Lost the following week at #5 Florida
- Beat #9 Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl for their third win over a top 10 team, beating #3 Michigan and #10 Syracuse earlier in the season
- All-Americans: CB Terrell Buckley (unanimous), LB Marvin Jones (consensus), QB Casey Weldon, RB Amp Lee
1995 Ohio State (11-2)
- Started season 11-0 before losing season finale to Michigan, which cost them a share of the Big Ten title
- Lost to Tennessee in Citrus Bowl matchup of top 5 teams
- 8 of 13 opponents were ranked
- Scored over 40 points 6 times
- All-Americans: RB Eddie George (unanimous), OT Orlando Pace (unanimous), WR Terry Glenn (consensus), DE Mike Vrabel

I'd pay a lot of money to see this game.

I'm picking OSU because while they're very similar teams in some ways, I feel like OSU would have more range in their play-calling. You couldn't run on FSU, but you could run on OSU (see UM game). But I feel like FSU would still want to pass a certain amount, even if the run game was rolling. OSU would run-run-run if it was working or be able to pass more if it wasn't.
99% of teams run more than they pass, and both of these did, but FSU felt obligated to pass, which may be a problem vs such a tough opponent.
That may be a weird reason, and I don't think I've ever used it before, but I think it's true.
