It's a chilly Saturday morning here in Columbus, though the temperature should rise a but and should be reasonably pleasant for a noon kick. My fridge is full of odds and ends I should probably cook today, but who am I kidding I'm sure I'll buy more. I'm thinking of making some pizzas since it will probably be just me and the kids. A good buffalo chicken pizza could be strong, at least for me. What is the proper way to top a buffalo chicken pizza?

Good day for that- maybe a little kick to the Buffalo sauce.
Good November football weather.
-
This is pastry week in the SEC, yum, mostly. I don't expect Arky to hang with Bama long.
Wake Forest will get hammered, I suspect, and Oregon may lose.
-
Up too late not finishing the Air Force-Nevada. Decent weeknight slate.
Got in a lift. Walked over to a local place for a low-priced breakfast burritos. gonna hit the road to catch a nearby game, fly back to the golden state tomorrow.
-
football weather here - no golf
not one B1G game this evening?
a buddy might be coming over to watch the Badgers bludgeon the Huskers.
Hillshire Farm 100% all natural pork mild italian sausages on the menu
I'll start with a Bloody Mary and back that up with Budweiser
-
Nom nom breakfast burrito. What is the best breakfast burrito? The trickiest part is the potatoes - getting them crunchy enough to get that extra texture. I cheat and use Kroger potato rounds and air fry them until super crunchy.
Today I got roped into making pancakes, which for some reason I can never get right. I stopped trying to make them from scratch because I always mess up cooking them. I don't like pancakes to perfect them and the kids don't care anyway.
-
potatoes go along side a burrito, not in it
-
Good day to put away some of the outdoor furniture. Maybe use that Egg thing too.
-

Away with you heathen
-
45°F here in brilliant sunshine, beautiful day, a bit chilly. I don't know if we get ESPN Plus.
Meh.
-
Mel Tucker is warming up his scowl face by now. Good luck to Sparty, you’re gonna meed it.
-
Huskers at Badgers on ABC - lucky you
-
football weather here - no golf
blasphemous

The best breakfast burrito is chorizo. No question.
I'll be brining the bird for tomorrow, then watching Purdue football, then Purdue basketball, then grinding chuck roasts for burgers tonight with tater tots.
Going easy on the menu tonight because we're doing Thanksgiving with the in laws tomorrow.
-
The best breakfast burrito is chorizo. No question.
This is accurate. I can go either way on potatoes. If done right, they work well. If not, too starchy. Today's burrito had some potatoes. Could've been less, but not overwhelming.
A few months ago I hit a very authentic torta shop in town and got a chorizo one. I was expecting it ground, but it came sliced, which is a considerably different eating experience.
-
I don't really like chorizo but a good sausage of choice is probably the right answer
-
love chorizo for breakfast but a good sausage can be added. Meat lover here
-
I don't really like chorizo but a good sausage of choice is probably the right answer
I like to start my day with heartburn. Makes me feel alive.
-
I had never heard of or had chorizo until firmly moved to the Southwest 15 years ago.
Anyway, it’s a quiet, foggy morning along the coast of Southern California. Sleep-in-late weather. Extra-coffee weather.
Christmas tree got put up last night and, for his instinctive territorial assessment, the Cat slept the night beneath its boughs and lights.
Will put some of these early games on while cleaning apartment and packing for going out of town all Thanksgiving week. Around lunch will head up to brother’s (USC Grad) with Trader Joe’s pizzas to catch the UCLA-USC Crosstown Rivalry.

The irony of Thermopylae is that at the end, all the Spartans die.
-
Chorizo/egg is my favorite breakfast taco.
Egg/bacon/cheese is great too, and egg/bacon/potato/cheese is also tasty.
But you can't sleep on the barbacoa breakfast taco, that's a thing of beauty.
And here in Central Texico, chopped BBQ beef on a breakfast taco is also a common and glorious thing.

Yer not cheesing up that chorizo/egg combo?

ya gotta have cheese

So who is getting kicked backwards into a pit?
Gorgeous fall morning here in MSP. Gophers later, but my wife and Izzo the dog are firmly cheering for MSU this morning.

I believe that’s the messenger from the Persian king? Not shooting the messenger, but it’s close
-
Yer not cheesing up that chorizo/egg combo?
A lot of folks do, but for me the chorizo has a substantial amount of greasiness and the cheese gets lost. But don't get me wrong, if someone brought me a chorizo/egg/cheese taco, I'd eat it right up.

I like to start my day with heartburn. Makes me feel alive.
Then you need to try Sam's M.I.L.s strychnine Jamaican Oxtail & peas dish in the Thanksgiving thread

66 here, high of 79.
Yes, throw some potato in it!

I bought the Costco 24 pack of Sam Adams Christmas selections. Let's see how early I tap into them.

Buckeyes choosing to go into the sun not wise

Columbus looks like 40 and sunny with no wind, about as good as one could hope for in late November.

We bought the wine advent-ure.
Will start them 3 days early due to our trip to OK in December.

Niiiiice touchdown for Olave
-
NU drives deep but Purdue avoids giving up points due to a Karlaftis blocked punt.
0-0 late first.
Missed most of it so far because Hulu is showing RU/PSU on both BTN channels. Had to download the Fox Sports app to get it.
-
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicccee

Sparty can't stop you in the red zone if you are never in the red zone
-
Olave and Wilson.
Smith-Njigba's due...
-
I haven't looked at the stats but it sure feels like the Buckeyes blow on 3rd and long
-
MSU is passing too much. Don't you have a dude in the backfield???
-
Purdue drives deep due to a very questionable NU PI call, but then comes up empty on a TD throw due to a very questionable NU PI no-call.
Kicks the FG to go up 3-0 early 2nd.
-
Looks like a fumble
-
Niiiiiiiiccccceee
-
That'll loosen up the trenches.
-
Now we'll get a look at that MSU redzone defense.
-
I knew Ohio State would kill our cornerbacks, but our safeties are getting caught at an alarming rate
-
Purdue settles for another FG. 6-0 Boilers.

Nice to see Fleming get a touchdown. Haven't got to see much of him

NU 4th and 10 on the Purdue 30, elects to go for it rather than trust the kicker hitting from 47. Purdue makes the stop.
Now hoping Purdue can drive the field with <4 in the half and extend the 6-0 lead. Getting very worried the degree to which we're letting the purple kitties hang around.

This is the worst showing from a Michigan State team I can ever remember
The Alabama game?
-
Stroud is 20-21 for 294 yards and four touchdowns. Not bad for there being 10 minutes left in the second quarter
-
The Alabama game?
Which one?
Playoff or that one Citrus Bowl...:57:
-
The Alabama game?
That was 10-0 at halftime
-
hypesman hype?
-
Stroud is 20-21 for 294 yards and four touchdowns. Not bad for there being 10 minutes left in the second quarter
There's almost an exact twin of this game - Peyton Manning's JR year vs Florida (1996).
I want to say it was #2 vs #4.
Florida got up 35-0 with 10 min left in the 2nd quarter.
The only difference was the home team was getting trounced.
-
O'Connell deep strike to Milton Wright. Purdue 13-0.
Give the ball back with just under 2 minutes remaining. Let's get to the half without an NU score.
-
The Alabama game?
That was 10-0 at halftime, and 0-0 after the first quarter, with a QB playing with a separated shoulder, throwing a pick in the end zone in the final minute at the half, when they had a chip shot FG in the bank.
Alabama just wore them down in the second half, but it was fairly even for 30 minutes.
-
That was 10-0 at halftime
True, and only 38-0 at full time, which is almost where we are at now.

I looked up the final score of that game and am thinking I would prefer it not to be an exact twin
-
Ohio State WR's and pass game just too explosive. Michigan doesn't stand a chance either.
-
Well, Purdue has allowed NU to drive to the ~30 where they have 1st and 10 with 0:44 and 2 TOs.

Has anyone called Columbus PD? Rittenhouse may have been innocent, but OSU is GUILTY!

There was no one else on the screen where Wilson caught it, and they ran the play from the 10

:043:
-
Well shit. Purdue defense collapses completely and gives up a TD as the clock expires. 13-7 Boilers.
-
guess I made the right choice by watching the Cyclone/Sooner game?
-
Has anyone called Columbus PD? Rittenhouse may have been innocent, but OSU is GUILTY!
I honestly thought this was going to be closer. I knew MSU's pass defense was bad- as they're ranked #130 in the country- but holy shit.
OSU just got the ball back- odds are they score here and are up 49-0 at with a couple mins left...AT THE HALF.
Jesus.

Even the TE is YACing it up.

God, I really effing hate it when these SEC teams schedule bodybag FCS games so late in the season. They are just not competitive at all!
Wait, this is a B1G conference game???

The secondary is horribly banged up, and their #2 WR is out, but the front seven is healthy, and getting thrown around

this is why a few folks had Michigan ranked ahead of Michigan State
of course, the same thing could happen to Michigan soon

-
Only on pace to score 98 now.
-
Holy batman
-
49-0 at the half. Jesus.
How the hell did Michigan lose to this Spartan team up 16 points? Harbaugh took his foot off the passing gas- that's why. This MSU pass defense is maybe the worst I've seen from a top B1G team in awhile. They even made Cade McNamara look good- he had a career day vs them- hasn't had that many yards vs anybody- ever.
-
Some games you just turn off because they are not competative.
But the OSU-MSU game is so bad I can not look away because I am in awe. You can't possibly believe OSU can sustain this but it just keeps going.
If OSU plays like this the rest of the season, nobody is going to come close to OSU, not even Georgia. OSU could even beat some NFL teams playing like this. They are just incredible today.
-
I feel like I'm watching Cincinnati in a playoff game.....

This is like 300 Spartans vs a platoon of fully-armed Marines.
-
Well if your looking for good news as a UM fan, Buckeyes BEST corner, Burke, left the game long ago with what looked like a serious shoulder injury. It was a non contact play too, simply reached around and broke up a pass.
-
that was like watching a young Mike Tyson in his prime fight when he was just mauling people and beating them unconscious and knocking them out in first couple rounds.

awesome. thanks! watching it right now lol.
I think he had the best speed to power I've ever seen from a boxer. Lots of boxers have speed or power- very few have great speed and great power. He was so fast, so quick, and so powerful- it was truly awe inspiring and scary.
-
Talk about a trick play drawn up by Brohm on the 2nd half opening kickoff!
I don't know how he taught his kicker to slip while approaching the ball, somehow still make contact with the ball, make it carom off a NU front-line blocker and then have his team land on it. Surprise onsides kick!
I mean, the announcers say it was just a lucky fluke, but Brohm COULD have drawn it up that way, right? :57:
Purdue goes down and scores, but fails the 2PT conversion. 19-7 Boilers.
-
God, I really effing hate it when these SEC teams schedule bodybag FCS games so late in the season. They are just not competitive at all!
It's pretty stupid. The Clemson-Wake announcers are pretty annoyed reading the SEC Scores, calling it "paycheck week in the SEC." Halftime scores are #1 Georgia up 49-0, #16 TX A&M up 38-0, #25 Mississippi St up 42-0, and Kentucky up 35-16 with later body bag games kicking off between Tennessee and South Alabama and LSU and UL-Monroe.
In terms of political boundaries, the SEC is gerrymandering their own schedule.
-
Looks like Reed and Crouch both hurt? The only thing worse than losing is losing your #1 WR and your fastest LB
-
Purdue defense is trash today. Let NU march right down the field for a TD again. NU hanging around it's again a one-possession game.
19-14 Boilers.
-
lol, when your 2nd half "key" is body language......yeeesh.

Yeah, they should schedule losses instead.
This is how it's been since the 12th game was introduced and it hasn't harmed the conference in any measurable way.

Uh, yeah, except that they could change it tomorrow if they wanted to. Harder to change how we breathe.

O'Connell hitch and go to Wright for another long score.
26-14 Boilers.
Let's see if the defense can make a stop.

Sorry all, I want intending to start an SEC scheduling debate.
I was saying MSU is putting up as much of a fight as an FCS squad.

The turf at Wrigley is terrible.

There is no debate. The patsy game during the most exciting part of the season objectively sucks. It's like debating whether air exists. There is a clear right and wrong here.

Xavier Henderson out too. Easily the best player on defense.

NU to open the 4th quarter facing 4th and 2, down 14.
Big down for both teams here.

Illini may have put game out of reach, up 10-0 on Iowa
-

No, the issue isn't playing them. It's playing them the weekend before Thanksgiving. I agree, college football needs to incentivize not doing it. Everyone plays non con cream puffs in September.
-
NU guess away from what works (the run) to try playaction and Purdue gets the stop!
-
So I've been watching this OSU/MSU game closely this afternoon and it appears that Michigan is going to have a covid outbreak early next week.

Illinois 10-0 over Ferentz

Iowa will do anything to avoid moving the ball on offense

Michigan State is a destination program and Tucker can’t wait to get back there. But first he must achieve the moral victory and score some points.

NU was driving on the ground, then tries to throw on four straight downs and it's four straight sacks. Turnover on downs.
Don't know what Fitz was thinking.

Xavier Henderson out too. Easily the best player on defense.
Reed in a boot. Henderson and Crouch in street clothes.

That is a GREAT tournament. Nova beat Tennessee to ideally set up a Nova-Purdue final. But man, it sucks to bury those games on ESPN News on a college football Saturday. There's a reason most of these Thanksgiving tournaments take Saturday off.

probably won't matter, but spotting the Badger defense a quick TD isn't great

Not sure how many teams CAN do it, but Michigan torched them over the top, and I haven't seen anyone do it since. Figured Purdue could

that 4th down stop merits a beer!
for me!
-
I don't know how much more I can take of McNamara the midget getting his passes tipped or throwing behind his WR's. This is the problem with barely 6 ft QB's who are not named Drew Brees nor mobile- their balls get batted frequently and they are too short to see over the LOS and their passes are just a weee bit off target.
Edwards looks like he could be special. He's not quite as fast as Corum straight-line- but he's more fluid imo. He's the most fluid athlete they have at RB.
-
Andrel Anthony is really good guys. Holy crap I'm glad they stole him from Michigan State. 3* my ass.

yeah....let's run the ball on 3rd and 10. Great idea.
-
Huskers score again
probably only lose by 6 or less
-
JJ McCarthy is SO much more talented than McNamara it's not even funny. They need to be starting this kid. Now. Right. Now.
-
JJ comes in for an entire series- makes 4-5 great throws, has a great run- throws a beautiful touch fade TD pass- and then they go back to McNamara on the next series.....makes sense.....not.
-
is Maryland actually playing Baby by Justin Bieber on the speakers in their stadium? They deserve to never win another football game again.
-
Donovan Edwards is going to be a problem as a pass catcher. This kid is so smooth and fluid and catches the ball like a WR.

You're the one who just admitted you recognize the song :57:
-
You're the one who just admitted you recognize the song :57:
well it's only like the most viewed video in YouTube history and one of the biggest #1 songs in world history. Kind of hard to not recognize it.....and it does not excuse Maryland from playing it at a football game.
-
Gophers stunk early but had a big 2nd to go up 21-7 at the half.
Tanner Morgan actually looks like a living, breathing Big Ten quarterback. Please look like this next Saturday against the weasels.
-
24-3 at the half. Would've been 28-3 if not for a penalty on the fourth TD. Michigan actually scoring TD's in the red-zone. No way! Maryland helping out by shooting themselves in the foot time after time.
Michigan D looks like it's sleepwalking a little bit. Don't really care as long as they stay healthy *KNOCK ON WOOD*.
Just need to finish, stay healthy, and not turn it over.
-

Florida State won the BC game. They are gonna be coming in hot for the Florida game.
Bowl eligibility on the line too.
-
Florida State won the BC game. They are gonna be coming in hot for the Florida game.
Bowl eligibility on the line too.
Florida - FSU games used to be for title shots....now it's just which one will be eligible for a bowl game. Crazy.
-
Florida can technically clinch bowl eligibility today IF... they beat
the Tigers Missouri.
If not, then yes. Florida and Florida St would be playing for which one gets to go to the internet.com bowl and get beaten by a Sunbelt team.
-
Uh oh, the Hawkeyes just put 'em away.
-
the more I see JJ McCarthy the more it infuriates me he isn't starting. The kid literally has the perfect throwing motion/mechanics. His arm talent is seriously elite.

After a slow start on offense thanks to two early Dorian Thompson-Robinson interceptions, UCLA’s Senior experience is taking over their Crosstown rivalry Vs USC.
It isn’t doing USC any favors that Four calls have brought back explosive plays. Two offensive pass interferences after long pass catches, an ineligible man downfield after a long pass catch, and an overturned catch after a long pass catch. However, USC’s big play dependent offense strikes right before the half to keep the Trojans in the game, trailing the Bruins 28-17.
-
31-3. Michigan looking sharp and like they went on the road to take care of business and not overlook anyone even though next week they'll have the biggest game in 5 years vs OSU.
-
Bearcats putting SMU in a pine box
-
Donovan Edwards is the best receiving back I’ve ever seen at Michigan. And it’s not close.
This guy could become SUCH a weapon the more playing time he gets.
-
WHEW PIG
-
Tua Jr would be good- if he didn't overthrow the ball too much and throw it right to the other team too often.
Kid has serious wheels and can move and has a strong arm, just tries to throw it too hard and it goes wild and high sometimes and he'll throw it to the other team way too much.
DJ Turner is really good. Michigan has at least one legit good CB, methinks.
52-18.
-
I know I'll get killed for this and rightfully so- but MAN if they didn't overturn that Hutchinson TD vs MSU....Michigan is probably 11-0 right now- even with that 4th QTR meltdown vs Sparty.
-
Arkansas being kind of good is awesome because what is more fun than yelling whew pig all the time
-
That was a ball don't lie moment for Nebraska after a very week holding call negated a long run, just to convert a long fourth down pass play and cash in the touchdown
-
JJ McCarthy with a rushing TD. 59-18.
-
That was a ball don't lie moment for Nebraska after a very week holding call negated a long run, just to convert a long fourth down pass play and cash in the touchdown
That big TE for Nebraska was absolutely wide open on that 4th down play.
Also that freshman RB for the weasels is a damn load. He's got 100+ yards since halftime.
-
whale shit!
-
The best thing about being the best 3-7 team is the chance to be the best 3-8 team

whale shit!
Allen has at least 150 years since halftime. He's gonna be the next Badger RB to go for 200+ next week

Huskers beefed it.
Ref beefed it

Oof.

I don't blame the refs much, but...........
that was obvious, give the huskers a chance to beef it

he should, the ref should be ashamed and called out

If The ACC champion had a bid to the tournament I would be so much more locked into this Pittsburgh Virginia game. Instead it's just for a shot to play in the Orange Bowl against an arbitrary helmet team
-
The part where my team won was nice
your team looking pretty good, they really turned it around from 1-3, have a chance to lock up the West after they spank Minnesota next week. Consider me impressed with Paul Chryst flipping the script.
-
who wins this Utes-Ducks game?
-
If The ACC champion had a bid to the tournament I would be so much more locked into this Pittsburgh Virginia game. Instead it's just for a shot to play in the Orange Bowl against an arbitrary helmet team
It's the biggest problem with the current system, which is you can't really place any weight on a game until a bunch of idiots tell you a couple days later
-
who wins this Utes-Ducks game?
Good question. Utah the best team Oregon has played since OSU right?
-
Good question. Utah the best team Oregon has played since OSU right?
Yep. Utes are favored.

BTW, I remember we were thinking the B1G running backs were bad coming into the season. Now, whew boy there are some studs here.

Florida going to OT with Missouri.
I'd like to go back to my college self and tell him MSU lost by 50 to OSU, but is still better than Texas, USC, and all 3 Florida schools.

who cares besides Oklahoma and Cincinnati?

who cares besides Oklahoma and Cincinnati?
I think the Utes and Ducks split their two game series, and so will Oklahoma and OSU2 split theirs.
Then Bama loses to Georgia, and not only does Cincinnati get into the playoffs, but also Notre Dame.

That's like a single elimination playoff game.

The Big Ten West race is still a little muddled now but is a little more clear after today's games.
Wisc can clinch the division with a win over Minn or a loss by Purdue and a loss by Iowa.
Wisc would win a 2-way tie at 7-2 berween Iowa and Wisc. Wisc would win a 3-way tie at 6-3 between Wisc, Iowa, Minn. Wisc would not win a 4-way tie at 6-3 between Wisc, Iowa, Minn, Pur
Iowa can clinch with a win over Neb and a loss by Wisc.
If Iowa loses to Neb on Black Friday, then Iowa would be eliminated because Iowa can not win any possible tie breakers at 6-3. If Iowa beats Neb on Black Friday, then minn is eliminated. Iowa still needs Wisc to lose because Iowa can not win a 2-way tie at 7-2 between Iowa, Wisc.
Minn can clinch the division with a win over Wisc and a loss by Iowa, and a win by Purdue. Minn can not win a 3-way tie at 6-3 but would win a 4-way tie at 6-3 between Minn, Wisc, Iowa, Purdue
Purdue is now eliminated but could still finish in a 4-way tie for 1st place at 6-3 if Purdue beats Ind, Iowa loses and Wisc loses. But Purdue would not win a 4-way tie at 6-3 between Purdue, Wisc, Minn, Iowa.

I think these are the two best teams right now.

Tom Brookshier was pretty good

Utah punches it in on 3rd and Goal. Up 21-0 with 25 seconds left to go until the half. They are absolutely physically dominating and bullying Oregon.

Presuming Oregon loses, whose in the current four? Cincy benefits, OSU looked fantastic, Alabama looked vulnerable. I'd have OSu at 2, then probably Michigan and then Cincy.

well, it's not Notre Dame at #4

When Oregon loses...my guess the rankings will be...
1) Georgia
2) Ohio State
3) Alabama
4) Cincy
5) Michigan
-

If you remove the Oregon barrier, OSU jumps Alabama. Cincinnati is #4, knowing that it doesn't matter because OSU and UM play next week, and the loser eliminates themselves.

Holy hell

the Ducks SUCK

Utah just returned a punt for a TD with 0 seconds left on the clock.
28-0 at the half. Oregon getting absolutely beat down this first half.

The FS1 announcer is starting to make fun of the fact that he has to plug OSU-UM after every commercial break, by overselling it more and more, and I'm here for it.
Most recently he said, "you better find a dark room to isolate yourself in to watch the most important event of your life"

I think it was....and hey, it's not like Michigan-OSU games can be as important or big as USC-UCLA games....now those games are really big events.

Oregon can't tackle for shit
I've watched them vs Stanford, little bit vs Wazzu, and been watching this Utah game...and I know it was super early in the year- but the game was in Columbus- and I still can't figure out how Ohio State lost to this Oregon team. It bottles the mind.

Ohio State's best shot against Georgia is for Bama to lose the SECCG and drop to #4 with tOSU and Cincy at #2 & 3.
That way the Buckeyes' semi-final is an easy tune-up game while Georgia is stuck playing a tough game against a legitimate opponent.
-
Damn. 35-7. This is an ass-whoopin', and Utah's last series was nothing but really basic stuff.
Also, the biggest crowd ever at Salt Lake Olympic Stadium.

yeah, it's been complete and utter domination by Utah. They have been bitch-slapping Oregon up and down the field for 3 QTRs.

almost as bad as giving up a TD on the opening kickoff

Alabama has tied FSU with longest streak for consecutive 10 win seasons (14 straight).

great, thanks for sharing

Don’t forget that Ohio State has the second youngest team in division one football in terms of returning production, especially on defense.
their “room for improvement“ was way bigger than most.
-
Ducks go down 38-7 at the hands of the Utes. What a total and complete asswhooping.
-
Alabama has tied FSU with longest streak for consecutive 10 win seasons (14 straight).
Yeah, but they play more games now. Context.
-
Utah's last 2 TDs before the half came quick from guys who just kept ballin' and breakin' tackles and refusing to go down
-
Yeah, but they play more games now. Context.
So in your "context" FSU had a better run?
-
but the game was in Columbus- and I still can't figure out how Ohio State lost to this Oregon team. It boggles the mind.
The Ducks just seemed to set the tempo and kept that pace up.They deserved it no doubt
-
So in your "context" FSU had a better run?
Their run was in fewer games, so to win 10 per year, that required a better win%.
Whether that's better or not is up to the individual.
-
Texas Tech got shut out and had only 108 total yards.
-
Their run was in fewer games, so to win 10 per year, that required a better win%.
Whether that's better or not is up to the individual.
Which theoretically makes it easier to get to and win championships - all things being equal
-
The 'fun fact' had nothing to do with championships, just wins.
-
No ,it was about "Context"
-
Yeah, but they play more games now. Context.
yup and FSU played more games than previously
it's called progress for the network barons
-
No ,it was about "Context"
context??? context? We don't need no stinkin context!!!
-
I think you're arguing just to argue.
Winning 10 games every year when you average 12.1 games per season is harder than if you average 13.4 games per season.
Wins.
Annual.
Consecutive
Math.
Logic.
Try it.
-
You'll take your context, eat your runza and go to bed
-
I'm pretty sure I'll sleep well
-
Championships try that - more impressive logic indicates than 10 win seasons
-
Ur definitely trolling.
The fun fact was about 10-win seasons.
I'm sorry you're that bored.
Goodnight.
-
Never stated as a fun fact just piling on - sweet dreams
-
Good fight tonight. Crawford a machine. Really good effort by Porter.
-
Yeah, but they play more games now. Context.
Compare schedules. Bama's run is far better then FSU's.
-
More opportunities, even difficult ones, are still additional opportunities. This isn't difficult, guys.
Why do I get the feeling that if I was some non-descript poster, you'd agree with me?

Why do I get the feeling that if I was some non-descript poster, you'd agree with me?
no one agrees with anyone around here
that wouldn't be fun
you're special, but not that special
see, I'm not even going to agree with you on this ;)
-
Compare schedules. Bama's run is far better then FSU's.
perhaps not depth of schedule, but FSU was playing the Canes and the Gators each season when all 3 programs were pretty stout
for example: 1998 Noles schedule included #14 Texas A&M, #18 USC, the unranked Canes, who must have sucked, #20 Georgia Tech, #12 Virginia, #4 Florida, and a bowl game vs #1 Tennessee
Canes ended with 3 losses ranked #20 in the AP
But, it's not the SEC SEC SEC
of course Bama or this season Georgia doesn't play all the best SEC teams in a given season
-
UGA right now has played no ranked teams if Arkansas drops out, unless Clemson creeps in.
Their toughest opponents were probably at Tenn and at Auburn.
Ohio State looks really good, maybe this is akin to the VaTech loss season.
-
This is a stupid debate.
14 consecutive 10-win seasons is a ridiculous achievement in any era. Kudos to both teams for achieving it.
That said, OAM is absolutely right that context matters. Teams get more games every year, and in the era of CCG and the CFP, you can potentially have up to 15 games per year, where much of FSU's run would be a maximum of 12 games. From 1987 until 2000, in those 14 years FSU played 12 games 11 times, and 13 games 3 times. During Alabama's run, they have NEVER played less than 13 games in a single season.
OAM is also right that this is not some definitive answer which tells us whose achievement is more significant. After all, the first half of FSU's was independent, and the second half was the ACC. That's not nearly as difficult SOS as Alabama, who spent all of that time in the SEC SEC SEC SEC!!! I'd also argue that the era where FSU was doing it might have been a little more, let's say loose, with NCAA enforcement of recruiting violations. And Alabama, while I don't think they're paying players, basically ignited the spending arms race not only with facilities, but also with hiring coaches for "non-coaching" analyst roles, having enormous staff for recruiting evaluation, etc etc.
So these are both amazing runs by any team. The context of number of games is important, and shouldn't be discounted if you're trying to compare them. The context of number of games also doesn't automatically give FSU the advantage if you're trying to compare them, because conference and era of football also shouldn't be discounted.
But everyone jumps to conclusions whenever OAM opens his mouth.
-
This is a stupid debate.
and it's not even the off-season yet :91:
-
Both runs were impressive, no doubt. And it's tough to compare between somewhat different eras. Tennessee allowed no points in the entire regular season one year.
I do think Ohio State's run of very few bad seasons is unparalleled, none for more than 2-3 years.
FSU's top five finishes is astonishing. 1995 Nebraska was a massive team. UGA's new running back weighs 350 pounds and is 6'7".

ND over Michigan?
-
apparently the pollsters don't believe Michigan will beat tOSU
if Michigan pulls the upset, they will jump ND
-
Here’s a look at Klatt’s Top 10 entering Week 13:
1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. Alabama
4. Michigan
5. Cincinnati
6. Notre Dame
7. Oklahoma State
8. Baylor
9. Oklahoma
10. Wisconsin
Just missing the cut this week are Ole Miss, BYU and Utah.
-
apparently the pollsters don't believe Michigan will beat tOSU
if Michigan pulls the upset, they will jump ND
stupid. Michigan would bitchslap ND. ND is not a good team- they've played absolutely no one outside of Wisconsin, Purdue, and Cincy- they got bitchslapped by Cincy, got some fortunate calls and bounces go their way vs Purdue, and really they were on the ropes vs Wisconsin and losing that game in the 4th QTR until Wisconsin fell apart in epic fashion. If Wisconsin played them today they would boat race ND, and not sure ND beats Purdue on a neutral field.
Florida State, Toledo, & Virginia Tech took them to the wire. Those are three truly awful teams. Not even awful good teams like Nebraska- just awful awful teams.
ND is very fortunate they've played a bunch of MAC, service academies, god awful ACC teams this year, and that their main rival USC is awful.
-
apparently the pollsters don't believe Michigan will beat tOSU
if Michigan pulls the upset, they will jump ND
If that's how they're voting, they need their vote taken away.
Maybe ND is ahead of UM because they have the better loss.
-
If that's how they're voting, they need their vote taken away.
Maybe ND is ahead of UM because they have the better loss.
was it a better loss though? ND lost at home by double digits- to a Group 5 team.
Michigan lost on the road to an in-conference rival by 4 pts- after they were up by 16 pts with 18 mins left in the game- and it should've been up 23 pts because the B1G officials have admitted Aidan Hutchinson's TD shouldn't have been over-turned.
Yeah- I get it- Michigan choked- they deserve the LOLs- and Cincy is clearly a better team than MSU- but the situations are very different. And then when compare their rest of the schedules- ND's schedule is a joke. Which is why those clowns will never join a conference- because it will kill any chance they have of actually going to the playoff.
