Title: Washington (0-2) at Michigan (2-0) Post Game
Post by: Temp430 on September 08, 2021, 11:00:41 AM
The Huskies and Wolverines play Saturday night 8 PM on ABC.  Each team has lost a starting WR for the season, Polk for Washington and Bell for Michigan.  Michigan is favored by 6.5 points.

In week one, Washington screwed the pooch, against a good FCS Montana team. Michigan looked competent against Western Michigan, usually a decent MAC team. Advantage Wolverines. Now, did Washington look so bad, because they were looking ahead to the game in Ann Arbor, or it was week one, and they were simply underprepared? I find it hard to believe that the Huskies actually suck THAT bad. Was the game against the Broncos, just a warm-up for this Michigan squad (better things expected), or that was the team we should expect in week two? I expect the Wolverines to be a respectably good team this year, on a level with Wisconsin, an improvement over the way they have looked in recent seasons. I am Bullish on the B1G this season, I see quality all over the conference in Iowa, Penn State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan and others. The Wolverines need this game, to get off to a good start, and avoid the disappointments that have become normal, in recent years. To be respected as a conference, we need Michigan to be successful.

Not expecting much. Every time this crackhead autistic fk of a coach has expectations on him he eats his own boogers and soils his pants.

This is a huge game however for the crackhead autist. If he loses this one- I think they might be a 7-5 team at best and things might start to crater and he might just lose his job. Because if they shit the bed again like they did last year- he might not make it to 2022.

Win those one however? Great chance they roll into Wisconsin 4-0 (their next two games are both at home vs Rutgers then Northern Illinois) with a lot of confidence. Pull of that upset and they’d have a great chance to be able to roll into the Michigan State game 7-0 as their next two after Wisconsin are Nebraska and Northwestern- two teams that look pretty awful right now.

None of this means shit however if they shit the bed at home vs a team traveling 2 time zones that just lost to an FCS team. Which means: they probably lose because booger eater is better at eating boogers than he is at preparing and coaching his team for a big game.

There's an excellent analysis in MGoBlog's Fee Fi Fo Film review of Washington's offense and why they lost to Montana in their home opener.  Bottom line was Washington's OL was very very bad.

Anytime you play the Grizzlies you have to take them seriously, or you could be in over your head. Fortunately for Michigan, this is a home game against Washington. I see a 31-10 win for the Michiganders.

The Washington @ Michigan score was the only one I predicted this season. I think I will stop there, and bask in the glory for a while. That's actually pretty amazing and if you hadn't bumped this thread, I would never have thought about it.

I find it hard to believe that the Huskies actually suck THAT bad.

Also hard to believe it’s still soon enough past January 2019 that there are players on Washington’s roster who were suited up on the sidelines for Washington’s Rose Bowl Vs Ohio State. Washington has fallen fast, starting in the trenches, thanks to Jimmy Lake and his incompetent staff.

In a rather boring game, Michigan’s interior line dominated the run lanes so much Harbaugh hardly bothered to pass. Which, once winning is obvious enough, why not practice the downfield passing game? Either way, the Huskies got pushed around in a way the Petersen years didn’t allow, letting up over 300 yards on the ground in a beat down that was worse than the score indicates.

Only Texas had an arguably worse outing last weekend against the run (Vs Arkansas), but even then Huskie fans might prefer they had Sarkisian against Michigan over Jimmy Lake. The Washington Huskies are the most ungrateful fan base I’ve ever encountered, whining endlessly against Chris Petersen’s conservative Xs-&-Os approach despite a three year run that included a Playoff berth and trips to the Fiesta and Rose Bowls. They deserve a disappointing football team; just get a load of their Huskies fan board and you can see Petersen quit because of Huskie fans: https://hardcorehusky.com/categories/hardcore-husky-board
