Yup, Chinatown in SF. Interesting place, but redundant in a way, every shop is the same.
The last two photos on one post will be a challenge for many I suspect.
-
I guessed Peru for the first one.
And for the last two . . . Alaska?

I believe that's Nope mountain, just outside of the town of Never, in the country of Notgonnadoit. #fearofheights
BTW CD, I didn't mean to steal your thunder with the other thread. Clearly this thread was the inspiration. I've seen that game on another forum, though, and doing it as a game makes it organized and a lot of fun.

I found a good place to ponder.

Amazing place to visit, on water.

The place is in the US, near Brutus. I had not seen that photo before. It is called "Walter's Wiggles".
Alaska is a good guess, but incorrect. It's a state few would think to mention really with that scenery.
Some scenes are in France (duh), not those two. I pulled these off some I posted on FB a while back.
-
Walter's Wiggles leads up to this trail, which can make you into an Angel if you're not careful.

I've been to Chinatown in San Fran and could name it.
not so much the other places

First guess is the Grand Canyon. but it doesn't appear to be near the South Rim Village, maybe west of there, closer to Hoover Dam?

Doesn't help that they require you to take a backpack, which can throw off your balance fairly easily if you aren't accustomed to wearing one.
-
does said required backpack have a parachute, airbag, or both?

I knew BB would nail it, it's an awesome place, I've never done that trail though. We waded up the Virgin River a half mile or so, that is fascinating, and less dangerous.
-
Zion is definitely on the bucket list for us for camping and hiking.

This one btw is the Carcross Desert in Yukon Canada, just north of Skagway Alaska.
It is the smallest desert in the world, at 1 square mile.

You can tell how the masonry changes about 35% of the way up.

Ugh! Stone Mountain, GA.

I blame the Freemasons.

I blame the Freemasons.
Might as well.
Better than blaming termites.

That bridge is in almost heaven across the New River, which is said to be the oldest river in the US.
I didn't really know rivers had ages.
-
Correct, and the other should ring a bell for you as a former southern Ohioan.
-
Hocking Hills? We never visited somehow.
I remember all that limestone everywhere, it was a new things for me coming from NC.
-
Old Man's Cave, which is Hocking Hills' center piece.

Mexican Hat area - central border of Utah/Arizona. Across the San Juan River, up some switch-backs. You can see Navajo Mtn in the background. That's a sheer cliff, and it's a long way down.
-
That's at the east end of the Utah-Arizona border, by the four corners region.
