not sure what is true since I am a few states away and being in the west division don't follow PSU that closely
Anyone closer to the school know what's the truth behind this mess?

I's say if this is true, Franklin is toast. He might be anyway. The natives are restless.

If so, this might be their last shot to bring Mike Munchak home.

Didn’t even read the article and automatically new Micah Parsons was involved lol. That dude was a head case. Everybody bailed on his recruitment except penn state.

No. This is nothing compared to the Sandusky sanctions that they remained competitive through.

i guess I am thinking with this hanging over the coaches head all season so far and add to that COVID and a new OC it is not surprising that there is a little slide in the W/L column

I don't think this has much, if anything to do with it.
For one thing, I think they are a LOT better than their 0-4 record. For another, they didn't really fall off a cliff until after the Ohio State game and that was week-2. If it had been this, you'd think they'd have been bad all season. Their games by week:
- Lost in OT to IU in Bloomingon. This loss looks better each week and remains the best game played against IU. On top of that, the Nittany Lions seriously outplayed IU and won basically everything but the final score.
- Lost to tOSU by 13 at home. This remains the best performance against tOSU all season.
- Lost to UMD by 16 at home. This is not good. It is the worst of three performances against Maryland (way worse than NU and even worse than MN).
- Lost to UNL by 7 in Lincoln. This is not good. It is the worst of three performances against Nebraska (way worse than tOSU and worse than NU as well).
It is either a mental thing or something happened between the tOSU game and the UMD game. I'm curious to see if they can reverse it. Their performances in the first two games were very good all things considered. If they can get back to that they could finish 4-4. If they keep playing the way they did against UMD and UNL they'll be lucky to avoid going 0-8.

If PSU doesn't recover and get to 4-4, I think Franklin is in trouble. This team has too much talent.
