Lots of double albums in the early goings.  I always thought London Calling was a 1979 release.  Perhaps that was when it was released in England.

I had a sitter that loved the Clash soni remember getting good exposure to punk, new wave alt rock around this time.

Yeah, in a way the double albums are sort of not fair, but I guess a great album is a great album.  I loved Sign O The Times but actually prefer Purple Rain, which is probably in my top 5 for GOAT.  Maybe we'll see it later.  I also like London Calling but prefer Combat Rock.  I wore out ALL of these albums on vinyl, that's for sure.

Tough call...

London Calling is very likely in my top 10 albums of all time. Could see it being my favorite album that made it into this.

Yeah.  December 1979 in England, January 1980 in the US

Now that you mention it yes.So I looked it up dec 14,1979 so I gues 80's.I'm going to see what great albums came out in Dec 1989

London Calling feels more like an 80s album than a 70s album anyway, so it fits even if it was technically released in 1979 in Britain.

I kinda liked the Clash when I was like 16, and never even remotely considered getting into Prince.

1989 had some of my faves.   I'm not sure which ones were released in December.   I'd hope at least one of these appears.   Paul's Boutique, Doolittle,  Mother's Milk, Technique, 3 Feet High and Rising, Skid Row (not likely to appear, but probably best last big hair metal album of the decade).  Bleach by Nirvana also came out in '89.
