Playoff Prediction

The B1G and SEC are insisting on preferential status in the playoff, and the probably should.

They're wanting 4 spots each, they're wanting 14 teams so each of their champs get a bye, etc.

Well, here's what I see happening, with a visual aid:

16 teams, with 4 guaranteed spots for each the B1G and SEC.....but they're spaced out to avoid facing fellow conference foes until the final 4.
The chance to advance each of their teams (or all 8, combined) built into the playoff.
It makes too much sense. It feeds the perceived greed.  It provides half the slots for "other."
It sort of paves the way for both the B1G and SEC to walk the walk.

And once a B1G or SEC team has won X-consecutive NCs and/or they gobble up all the worthwhile "others," it'll just be the above 8 spots w/o any "other." (8-team playoff from 2 conf)

I'm thinking the Big Ten's top teams this year will be

1. Ohio State
2. Oregon
3. Penn State
4. Michigan
5. Wisconsin
6. Iowa

After those 6 I got nothing.
A decade of Victory over Penn State.

All in since 1969
