Title: Week 4
Post by: CatsbyAZ on September 23, 2017, 09:30:27 AM
Crappy watching Arizona field another impotent performance, especially given the number of chances Utah gave to win. After self-inflicted missed field goals, drops on sure TD catches, and 3 INTs including a pick 6, Arizona was somehow alive with the ball down 24-30 with under 2 minutes left. Then, a la the Houston game, Brandon Dawkins tosses a pick.

So in conclusion, Brandon Dawkins has tossed TWO INTs on potentially game winning drives in BOTH losses! :33:

And with all their mistakes, no way Utah should be ranked. There's a lot of gutless, uninspiring football happening in the Pac 12 this season. Standing right alongside Arizona and Utah from last night, Oregon St, ASU, UCLA, and Stanford are also looking pretty guilty in that conference police lineup that I'm fuming at.

Congrats to ASU for holding on late against Oregon. And by holding on I don't mean so in any passive sense; given the past few seasons of late-game collapses coupled with fatigued defenses, outlasting the Ducks was no small feet, and hopefully a confidence booster for the rest of the season. Manny Wilkins looked much better passing for 347 yds and the Devil's team strength of pass-receiving imposed their will on the Oregon secondary, especially in open space after the catch.

Speaking of open space, it's time for UCLA to trash Jim Mora Jr. His defense through four games is statistically bottom ten nationally, giving up 43 pts for 525 yds per game! I'm tired of their (Mora Jr's) pregame excuses about injuries, suspensions, and ejections. The Bruins have recruited more than well enough to have the depth for a defense better than the likes of Rice and Old Dominion. Last night facing a very predictable Stanford offense piloted by a 3rd string QB and the Bruins defense held up no better than a bag of soggy potato chips.

Mora Jr's tenure has turned every bit as ugly as Neuy's, save for the 0-50 drubbing Neuy took from SC in 2011, but even then the Bruins were division champs that night.
