Tennessee 1st Half Drive Chart:
Fumble
INT
Turnover on Downs
Field Goal
Safety
Fumble
Fumble
End of half

Fumbles the 2nd half kickoff........

That's how you get blown out and not punt until 8 min to go in the 3rd quarter  :57:

So what you’re saying is that without TN imploding with 6 turnovers and 2 botched onside kicks which gave your POS gators the short field, you wouldn’t have won.  :72:

I wouldn't go that far.
Florida's offense still sucks, don't get me wrong.  The defense is shored up with Reese back in there at MLB.  I was stoked for a good, competitive game, but by the 2nd quarter, UT showed it was just a clown show.

The Vols did implode.

I'm wondering about Pruitt's story that a player would not enter the game when asked, and then the player's denial of that.

I sense dissension.

And now they get to go to Athens.

plainly said, they were very poorly prepared- very very poorly prepared.  ... and that was UF, which is not only THE nemesis, but the early season measure of how decent a team UT has fielded.  if ANY game should have been circled, it should be that one, no matter how anyone downplays it.

all of that^ speaks directly to coaching.

the situation with the player (Sapp) is a symptom not the cause...  and i wager it's not the only nor the biggest 'symptom'- which is to say focusing on it alone isn't going to 'cure' anything.

they're just bad.... and i mean really, really, bad.  worse than can be imagined likely- unless a person is actually familiar with the mechanisms required to operate a program.......... and those that 'were' familiar with the required mechanisms?  they wouldn't take the job... this should give pause to fans (myself included) that expect a decently quick turn-around.

Bama/UT better come with some form of parental advisory this year.

Parents, don't let your children watch stuff like that.

Bama-UT could be really ugly.

UT might not have a team by the time Bama rolls around....

I'm thinking UT should have gone with Hoke, at least for a year or two. I don't think Pruitt is the answer, but rebuilding Butch's mess (terrible hire) could take time. The country club at Tennessee is no more.

IF Pruitt is not the answer, they should take a look at the Buffalo coach. He's 4-0 right now, and before this job he won 6 DIII National Championships at UW-Whitewater, in 8 seasons. You are reading that correctly. 6 out of 8 - 75 percent.

Pruitt is going to get 4 years minimum, short of some kind of continuing disaster.

If he is mediocre, he could be 5-6 years, and I think he's at least that good.

They need an upgrade in recruiting, somehow, and soon.

I still can't believe they hired Derek Dooley.  Sub-.500 record at LA Tech.  Then the dumpster fire hiring process this go-around.  Then the Florida game.

All that being said, if Butch Jones was still there, they'd have the same record.  If THAT little nugget holds true, why give Pruitt more than 3 years?

If you hire and fire after 3 years, barring specific incident, you make it tough to hire a good coach with experience after that.  The coaching merry-go-round doesn't look good to prospective experienced coaches out there obviously.

They apparently had trouble finding Pruitt to take the job this time.  If he get them to a bowl game next year and perhaps win 8-9 games the year after, I think he shows enough progress to get year 4 and 5.    That is when expectations start to get out of hand, after you win 8-9 games in a year, though (counting the bowl game).

It helps to have an upset win along the way over a rival.  It hurts to have ugly losses to rivals.
