beat me to it

I watched on BTN

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The 14th-ranked Nebraska volleyball team handed No. 2 Penn State its first sweep in Rec Hall in 14 years as the Huskers upset the previously unbeaten Nittany Lions on Friday night, 26-24, 25-19, 25-20, in front of a crowd of 3,763.

The Huskers (8-3, 1-0 Big Ten) won their sixth straight match against Penn State and gave the Nittany Lions (10-1, 0-1 Big Ten) their first 3-0 loss at home since Oct. 18, 2003 against Minnesota.

Convincing.  I don't think either team had an ace.  Holman was all over the place.  They have PSU# lately, that's six in a row.  Much needed after the sad effort last weekend against UNI, which is no joke.

MSU gets #1 Minnesota on Sunday, televised on ESPN.  Could make for quite a weekend.

Indeed, rare love by ESPN.   I think, and I don't have data on this, the ratings for vball have actually been respectable lately, hearsay.  Of course the moment college hoops surfaces, the matches will vanish, or stick to espnu, but there's been more love.  EspnU does a fairly nice job.  Pac12 net still the best covering vball.  BTN has put together a nice schedule this season though.   UCLA about to knock off Oregon.  UCLA playing in their non Pauley Pavilion dinky gym, but it is pretty cool atmosphere.  One of those courts with lines all over it.  Looks like the courts I coach my 3rd graders on.

I know we talked about this in some thread on the old board, but offspring of pro athletes rears its heads in vball too.  Bob Lanier has a daughter playing USC vball.  She's very pretty, and yes, like her old man, has huge feet.  I see Jud Buechler's daughter is playing for UCLA (vb).

if two women's volleyball teams from the state of Nebraska can be in the top 10, then it stands to reason that UNL should be able to have one football team in the top 10
ouch

Torri Dixon, daughter of Vikings all-everything OL David Dixon, was a unanimous All-American for the Gophers.

Another ranked B1G team goes down at home this weekend.  OSU 3-1 win at Purdue.  Watch out Gophers on Sunday.

MSU takes the first set.  Only the sixth set Minnesota has lost all year.

Nice response, but then Minnesota staved off a couple set points, but MSU pulled it out 25-23 to take a 2-0 lead.
