There is an issue that might significantly change the perception of the Bama Oklahoma game. Apparently Tuas ankle is being operated on for a high ankle sprain. If Tua is less than effective and Bama has to rely on Hurts then to me the game goes from easy Bama win to toss up

he had a scope on it yesterday i think. projected back in action is 2 weeks. but hurts had a similar procedure mid-season (on his knee though i think) and was out 3+ weeks. we'll see.

i think ou wr had is going to have a similar procedure, or something. he's questionable for game as well.

You are giving way too much credit to OU defense and way too little credit to Hurts. Jalen will beat them by 2-3 TDs. Tua would beat them by 3-4 TDs. OU defense couldn't stop Taulia, much less Jalen.

FWIW Hurts had similar surgery during the mid season which was supposed to sideline him for two weeks. He was out for a month and was still not a 100% in the Georgia game.

Now, as far as underestimating Hurts, you could be correct. I know he was phenominal for the last quarter of the Georgia game and I could not be prouder of him. However, I watched him for two full years try to pass and he wasn't very successful. I simply want to look at things in perspective.

He is not exactly your every day back-up QB. And OU defense is not exactly your every day elite defense. I believe he can handle the following:

OU Defense (against a weaker strength of schedule)
Total Defense-108th
Rushing Defense-53rd
Passing Yards Allowed-128th
3rd Down Defense-115th
Red  Zone Defense-126th
1st Down Defense-128th

I honestly believe I could pass for 200 yards on OU's defense, and I'm a fat sack of shit with no "arm talent".  


Jalen Hurts has the same career passing efficiency rating as Chad Kelly and Jason Campbell.  Alabama fans should be ashamed how lowly they think of him and kiss his ass for forgiveness.

I think Tua is probably worth a TD per game over Hurts, if both are healthy.

With him, the Tide looked quite impressive over the regular season obviously, better than any Bama team I've seen in a long time.

Again, this isn't the usual playoff-caliber college defense.  It's garbage.  Worse than garbage.  Dead last in pass D, out of 130 teams.  It's not a bad defense for a 12-1 team, it's  bad defense for a 1-12 team.
