Amazingly, the 7-11 by my place apparently sells Bell's Hopslam now.

As for terrible beers (ignoring macrobrews, of course), white beers and various Belgian style beers I just can't appreciate. More for those who do, though....

So, you dislike the absolute best beers on the planet?  I'm genuinely sad for you.  :03:

I enjoy any beer that you can't see through.

Except IPAs. They taste like broccoli.

I don't much like broccoli.

Amen, brutha.

(Although, there are a lot of Czech, German, and Belgian-style pilsners that I love, and you CAN see through those...)

Grolsch makes a beer that they bottle in big tall bottles with a tricky type of of flip wire cap. You'll know it when you see it.

I got them mostly because that funky flip cap has a red washer seal on it. That red washer seal fits perfectly over the strap stud on a guitar. When installed, it's a very recognizable DIY strap lock.

Turns out, the beer was delicious, too! Probably shouldn't have had two right before going on stage, though.

Grolsch is a decent Dutch lager.  Certainly better then Heineken...

I buy Grolsch for my friends that are into home-brewing.  Those resealable flip-lids are a lot better for bottling, than capping normal bottles on your own.

Of course, the really smart home-brewers simply keg and avoid the hassle of bottling.

I'm pretty sure many of you have tasted more beers than I've tasted beverages.

Let's see - water, coke, dr. pepper, sprite, Fanta orange, tea, koolaid, corona, bud, coors, miller, shiner.

That's 12 liquids I've ever tasted in 50+ years.  I wager utee has tasted more than 100 beers.

:97: <- and what is that emoji doing?  Shaking its fist or ....?

Yeah, I've definitely tasted more than 100 beers.

That emoji frightens me, by the way.

Also, when did they become emoji instead of emoticons?  We've had emoticons for almost 30 years, but now we're supposed to call them emoji?

I feel like this is something the hipsters did to us, in their incessant desire to pretend they invented everything simply by taking very old ideas and giving them new names.  Don't all of those bearded fake lumberjacks realize "tiny houses" are really nothing more than terribly inefficient RVs?

Emoticons are purely text based. They're just ASCII style drawings like :) or ===D

Emoji are unicode supported graphics. They're a standards based call that lets platforms easily display preloaded images without repeatedly transmitting the file.

I remember when utee94 was young enough to be on the side that endeavors to call things by their appropriate name instead of an old cranky guy yelling at kids to get off his lawn and complaining about how things were different in 1987.

We called them all emoticons, even once they became graphics, for a decade.

Then some skinny-jeans mustache with a pocket watch decided they should be called emojis.  And you're siding with that skinny-jeans mustache.   :73:

Ya hack!

I guess your post (which pre-dates mine) answers my question.  So we have a whacking emoji.  A little risque for my taste.

Wait, is it gone?  I don't see it up there.
