Emoji shortcuts

Is there a way to maybe get rid of these?

Like ( 8 ), if you remove the spaces, automatically changes to (8)

I've noticed a couple others too, and I can't figure if there's an override.

there is a way for certain, and I'll jump on it by this evening.  
I don't take any of these things as complaining, Sir, I take it as constructive- it's my goal to make this joint the best it can be for the crowd that uses it most.

sweet! let me know if you find any more... I put a ~ in front of them all... so.. ~ prior to 8) =  instead of 8).... same with a few others, just don't ask me to recall which ones.  emoji's from other available sets are bracketed with :'s instead... just conflicting ways of doing it i reckon... or maybe not conflicting but allowing folks to use different sets at the same time (reducing conflicts).
