I am so pissed at the pairings for the final round. Must be all Mexicans on the committee. There are four teams that won two games in the Group round of play. Final round consists of the top 8 teams. No way three of those top 4 should be in the same bracket. Right!?
Wrong! #'s 1 (USA), 2, 3 and 8 are in the top bracket. #'s 4 (Mexico), 5, 6, and 7 are in the lower bracket!

Just got my answer. How stupid is this?

If seeded, the pairings should have been #1 USA-#8 El Salvador, #2 Panama-#7 Honduras, #3 Costa Rica-#6 Jamaica, and #4 Mexico-#5 Canada

Just also learned that even prior to any drawing, it was determined that the winners of the groups the US and Mexico were in would play the two third place teams in the Final Round. :wtf: Panama and Costa Rica got screwed on that deal. And wound up having to face each other in the very first match of the Final Round!

Just got back from a week in Mexico and the only games they had at the resort were the Mexico games. Even here in Austin it's hard to get much of this tournament. I mean, I get it, this isn't like last year's Copa America Centenario-- I was in Mexico for a week then, too, and had no problem getting ALL the games.
But it sure seems like there'd be more interest and better coverage than we're currently getting.

that's interesting, i've gotten all the games except a couple from the group stages.
the setup sucks for everyone except us and mex (especially mex) but it is what it is.
looking forward to some revenge from last gold cup vs the reggae boys. i hope they come out and play like they did vs el tri and not sit back with 10 behind ball and play for the counter.
we looked very solid vs crc. back line was actually decent, the mid was really good, and the forwards finally got involved. gonna need another game like that to win this though.

big game tonight. hope we come out with the same aggressiveness as vs crc.
