Why Fire Butch Now The Seasons a Bust?
« on: October 29, 2017, 12:28:51 PM »
Nothing left to play for certainly won't beat LSU and Mizzou or Vandy either one is not a sure thing.

As the saying goes give a man enough rope and he will hang himself and Butch has the knot tied now.

We don't won't to end up like LSU with an interim HC hired permanently because he rallied the team to win a couple of games.

The more Butch screws up the easier it becomes to make a contract settlement deal for less momey so he can resign without having FIRED on his resume' and get another job probably in the FCS.

Coaching is all he has he certainly would never make it in the broadcast business like some ex-coaches but he could be a clown, maybe.  :57:

the race to available coaches is certainly complicated now with McTuna most likely getting bounced, and with others shopping... short list just out of the SEC:

UT
UF
Arky
USCe?
Ole Miss
Vandy?

MSU?  will mullet be plucked?

i can only hope people are being contacted and offers on the table right this second for the next in line... the only one who is gonna make out this off season are the agents.

waiting to secure a contract, whether CBJ finishes or not, is stupid in my opinion... they've gotta secure the selection now- and this time UT can't whiff on a coach... it has to be a known entity with a proven record.... else the program slip into nothingness.

I think the only school we will compete for a coach with is Florida, USCe will likely end up 8-4, Vandy has a cupcake schedule left, WKU, KY, MIZZ and UT so they could become bowl eligible not likely to change.

Who knows Butch may already be fired or resigned just letting him play out the season as part of the deal.

Another thing it's hard to get permission to talk to a coach under contract during the season.

LSU wound up with Orgeron because our athletic director is incompetent and childish, not because "the interim coach won a couple of games."

You don't talk to him during the season, you have a guy talk to a guy that talks to him during the season.  You gauge interest.  If it's strong interest, the 2 third parties bang out some ballpark figures.
