Title: Meta - Can we turn off the "__ posts have been added" alert?
Post by: Anonymous Coward on August 14, 2018, 01:37:29 PM
Hey Drew! My wording in that quotation may be slightly off but I'm curious how to turn off the function that alerts a member when making a post that other posts were added while they were typing.
To be honest, that alert isn't ever going to change my behavior. And it often takes me to a screen where rehitting "post" guarantees that I will proceed to the "forbidden access page."
My usage would be more pleasant if I could permanently switch it off. Thanks as always for the time and effort.

I will look into that, Sir- I've never come across the function but i've never set out to find it before either.

the forbidden thing will hopefully be a thing of the past by tonight (if it isn't already) because i finally figured out what was causing it... that booger was buried.

i tell ya what, Sir... let's just leave it alone... :'(

i crashed the hell out of the server for the last seven hours or so by removing a simple line of code... I'll figure this out in the sand box and circle back around.  the cascade was........... tremendous.

I was worried I might have asked a taller favor than I knew. Thanks for giving it time and brainpower!

Ive just never seen such a simple thing have such fallout ... Cause an error? Sure... Take whole dang thing down?  Crazy... Of course it helps when you arent writing code and uploading the replacement while the server is updating... That may have had something to do with it too!!!
