In scores of other games, Penn St baseball stinks.

Computer rankings agree.
Right now the conference looks a little upside down.  Maryland and Michigan are having REALLY disappointing seasons, and MSU seems to have bottomed out.  But OSU is back, and Rutgers looks to be fielding their best team.
Northwestern and Penn State are well behind the rest of the conference, but MSU, UM and Maryland make up the group immediately in front of them.

Anyone who is anyone who is anyone that I ever played with or against was either drafted or went south.  Period.  There is ZERO baseball heritage at PSU, even with the fact they play in that nice stadium (they share with the A level Spikes) and recruiting territory isn't fertile remotely.  Can't be good in everything, and PSU just isn't in townball.

It is nice to see that other schools in the conference do carry the torch a bit tho.  I still think the midwest is a good place for talent and some of those kids are staying home.

LINCOLN — Reggie Meyer handcuffed Nebraska hitters for eight innings and Minnesota took advantage of a wobbly start by Luis Alvarado to prevail 5-1 in the Big Ten opener for both baseball teams Friday night.

Smoked 12-3 by UM.  All the momentum Boss seemingly built when he arrived is gone.

Followed that by blowing a 9th inning lead in a 3-1 loss today.

Lincoln, Neb. – The Nebraska baseball team (13-10, 1-1 Big Ten) evened the series against Minnesota with a 8-2 win over the Golden Gophers at Hawks Field on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Scott Schreiber smashed two home runs as part of a 3-for-4 performance with three RBIs and three runs scored. Schreiber now has a team-high six home runs this season and 32 homers for his career, two shy of joining Nebraska’s top-10 career home runs list. Saturday was the fifth multi-home run game of Schreiber’s career, including his two-home run effort against Northern Colorado on March 14.

Junior righty Matt Waldron made his fourth start of the season and threw 7.0 innings, giving up two runs (one earned run) and recorded five strikeouts. Reliever Paul Tillotson tossed 2.0 scoreless innings and allowed only one hit, while recording one strikeout.

The Huskers and Gophers conclude their three-game series on Sunday at 2 p.m. (CT). The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

OSU took a home series vs Georgetown 2-1.

So far no make up date for the snowed out EMU game.

The Rockets are on the midweek slate coming up.
