Having a hard time caring much either way about this. Hell, at 5-6, they'd be playing for bowl eligibility I guess. Not that 7-5 is bad, it's fine, it would have been a great 2017. But we know what this team is, and even against Rutgers, I think they'll struggle still offensively. It makes for boring football at times. I like defensive struggles as much as anyone here, but watching MSU drop pass after pass, run ill advised wildcats again and again, it's simply not fun.
Mix in Thanksgiving, students away, bad weather, bad opponent, I would bet Spartan Stadium is half full at best.
Not enough time to do a full breakdown this week with travels, so I'll just say Michigan State 35, Rutgers 6. Not sure how we get to 35, but even the complete mess that was 2016 beat Rutgers 49-0.
