We'll see if Collin Klein gets a look.  Would rather he spend a few more seasons at the ATM before coming home, but wouldn't blame the guy.  If he's not already set for life with their coordinator money, a 5 yr contract with Boone Pickens Ostate would certainly do the trick.

Gundy fired every friggin coach under him to save his skin last year.  I think we know from whom the problem emanates. There's a lot of that going on in this new free agency era, including Dabo and very freakin' close to home.

I don't think there's much of Boone Pickens' money left at oSu. Gundy's $15 million buyout was all that kept him from being fired a year ago.

I think we're finally done paying off our last 3 coaches' buyouts. At one point I think we were paying all three simultaneously.

still trying to forget him
I knew he went to the NFL a couple of seasons but never did much there.  I vaguely recall him going to the CFL, but nothing ever gets reported out of there about hardly anything of note so I never really knew what he was up to.  Apparently he played in the CFL until 2012, pretty impressive really.

I about laughed at the part in the article where it said that one of the reasons why the NFL wouldn't give him a shot was due to racism, and it mentioned that at the time there were no black QB's in the league, except Michael Vick, McNabb, McNair, and about 5-6 others that were black QB's.  So basically about 20-30% of the starting QB's in the league were black, but he couldn't get a job due to racism and them not appreciating his running abilities.  Whatever.  I just recall him giving interviews where he was mostly unintelligible and couldn't put together a complete sentence, nobody was suprised when he couldn't make an NFL roster, it was always inferred it took more mental ability than what a lot of these college QB's were prepared for (Johnny Manziel prime example).

I remember him being the #2 behind Bledsoe, and couldn't believe that skinny kid from Michigan got the chance ahead of him.  Pretty monumental decision in the history of football, that one ended up being.

UH got exposed. I wasn’t surprised to see Weigman struggle, he was a total dud here. Is Texas Tech finally going to win their first XII title?

Seems like the rather large sum of money they spent on the portal is working out for them.  Their backup QB probably made himself a big future paycheck with the way he came in and dominated Utah--but that's the only time I have watched them so far.  This whole free agency thing has really pushed me out of giving a crap--at least the pros have guys that are generally going to be around for a few years after signing a contract, this thing is freakin' day to day.  Saw an article that our RB squashed the rumors that he was going to quit and take a redshirt and enter the transfer portal when able, and there were those rumors floating around.

Agree.

The transfer portal rules have all but ruined the game for me.  I no longer know who our players are from year to year, because I don't give a crap.  I don't care to learn their names when they transfer in for one season and are gone to another team or the NFL the next.  It was time consuming enough to familiarize myself with the players when they stayed for 3-5 years.  And I've found when I don't know the players, I care way less about the team.  It's just generic guys wearing the familiar uniform.  I have no sense that they chose my team because they like something about the team, love the school, want to represent the state, etc. as used to be the case.  They all strike me as 1 (or 2)-and-done mercenaries for hire.  I have no idea what % of the team is from Louisiana, I have no sense that they care about the state or want to rep the flagship university, or love the gameday atmosphere, or any of that.

The NFL is a much more honest sport to me, now.

And I hate the NFL.
