No, I don't gamble on sports, and even if I did, I'd never gamble on the Longhorns.

You may certainly believe what you choose to believe.  I'll believe what I choose to believe.

That's kind of the way this stuff works.
no problem I thought you said the Horns would lose by 21 points
I was just pointing out that IMHO you will be wrong
didnt mean to insinuate you would actually do such a thing as gamble
They won't let me give blood anymore. The burnt orange color scares the hell out of the doctors.

Speaking of microbrew, an associate just left me a twelver of New Glarus.  It's a sampler pack.  Says "Only in Wisconsin" across the box.

If its too rich for me, I'll wash it down with a macro.

Throwing pearls to the swine ... or maybe it’s a case of the “swine” choosing to drink Pearl

Obviously, since you are married.  Marriage:  Betting half of everything you own that she'll love you forever.

Dating:  Assessing the character of one you could potentially marry.

Jeez, you both sound like a couple of Indian parents discussing arranged marriages.

Arranged marriages last longer on average than the alternative.  Just sayin'.

I would say this is mostly due to the cultural mores of a society that would promote arranged marriages in the first place.

Assessing the character of one?????

what's character got to do with "dating"
"Courage; Generosity; Fairness; Honor; In these are the true awards of manly sport."

In Catholic countries, where until recently divorce was outlawed, like for example nearly all of Latin America, marriages last longer than they do here.

But I still wouldn’t think of marriage as a materialistically oriented wager of ones belongings or of dating as a character assessment like a marine corps recruiting procedure or something.

I mean, where’s the romance?  Where’s the simple, I dig this chick enough that I can’t imagine life without her?  It’s like Jim Croce sang

I know I could share it you want me to
If you’re going my way, I’ll go with you
