One of their songs I like.  Not a big Rush fan, but I respect the hell out of 'em.

I've never been a big Rush fan myself. Clearly talented, but usually too many notes and not enough groove for me. "Spirit of Radio" and "Trees" are a couple of favorites, though.

Don't real Rush fans consider "Spirit" to be radio-play Rush, and not "real" Rush?

I love Rush.  I don't know if I'm a "real Rush fan" but I don't consider Spirit to be radio-play.

Honestly I'm not sure I ever even heard it on the radio back in the day.

The only Rush song I can remember getting much radio play before the very late 80s, was Tom Sawyer.

Think this will be an appropriate regular kick off to the Weekend after hearing it on a station across the Lake in Ontario last October

Enjoy yourself - it's later than you think

I think I'm enjoined by court order to not create a two-tone ska band:

The older I get, I see how aging punks end up playing ska.

You think we look pretty good together
You think my shoes are made of leather
But I'm a substitute for another guy
I look pretty tall if my heels are high
The simple things you see are all complicated
Look pretty young but I'm just backdated, yeah

President Harry S. Truman said: “The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount.  The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings…  If we don't have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.

'Cuz I got my truck back

I don't remember a time when I didn't know this song.  I knew it long before I knew who Willie Nelson was.  One of my uncles was a truck driver and I can barely remember riding in his semi around the countryside somewhere, this playing in his tape deck.

My dad was running the radio station in Austin that was winning national awards for programming back then, so I was very familiar with Willie both before and after that song.

But there was extra excitement and synergy for that song and the movie Honeysuckle Rose, due to the extreme nation-wide success of the movie Urban Cowboy that came out at about the same time.  That song really blew up and became a big crossover success.
