I watched JCSS once,not a bad flick,pretty sure it wouldn't get ringing endorsements from the orthodox. Still when one considers JC was mocked and beaten after the establishment chose Barrabas ,not too far off base then - just put to music. All IMHO of course

Yeah those were the singers on the original concept album for JC Superstar, which was created before it ever became a play or a movie.  My parents had it on vinyl, and I wore it out in junior high and high school.  I now have that album in my collection, onet of the many LPs I've stolen from my folks (they don't have a turntable anymore anyway).

The musical Chess featured music written by the two dudes from ABBA, Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, and the lyrics were written by Tim Rice who also happened to write for multiple Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals including JC Superstar and Evita, among many other notable works.

Well get them a turntable for a birthday or Christmas and give them the LPs back - elder abuser

Nah my dad grew up spinning discs for local radio, then college radio, then radio in the big city.  And then he managed the whole joint.

He's been done with LPs since 1988 and done with CDs since 2015 or so.  He proudly streams music nowadays and wonders why anyone would ever do anything different.
