Another lesser known one from a one-hit wonder, but again you might recognize it because it's been used in movies and TV shows over the years.

Now for a couple from bands who I think probably would have been much bigger if they'd come out 5 or 10 years earlier, but they made the mistake of hitting it just before grunge emerged and ended hair metal's reign.

(The two guys from Nelson are Ricky Nelson's sons)

A decade before that, though, the Red Rocker was pumping out some pre-Van Halen bangers.  "I Can't Drive 55" is probably his most famous, but this one's my favorite:

A final one for today, not exactly a hair metal band but I'd say they're definitely hair metal adjacent.  An appropriate sign-off for a Friday afternoon...

Is Zander's kid still on skins for them? I know there was a bit of a dustup over creative control when Carlos could no longer go.

Cheap Trick is one of those bands with a catalog full of rockers that everyone digs. They've had a 50 year career. Whenever the most influential bands are mentioned, everyone shrugs and sort of goes, "Oh yeah. Cheap Trick. They were kinda cool too, I guess".

Today in Cheap Trick history: 5 Mar – (1977) Cheap Trick performed at the Royal Oak Music Theater in Royal Oak, Michigan, on a bill with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and headlined by The Runaways.
