sure Steve Perry had the better voice but, he was an arrogant asshat about it as well.  Nobody liked him - kicked out of the band  douche nozzle

I'd guess Geddy is a great guy to hang out with.
Nah I'm just saying if Nubbz thinks Steve Perry sings too high, well, he must absolutely hate Geddy Lee.

And the list of a-hole rock stars is far far longer than the list of nice guys in the industry.  I mean, the Van Halen brothers were psychotic assholes who repeatedly chased away singer after singer.  But I don't hold that against them.

I treat it the same way I treat politics in entertainment-- I ignore it.  Because if I disliked every rock star who was an a-hole, or every celebrity who had shitty political takes, then there wouldn't be much left to listen to or watch.

yup, I can almost understand how some of them start feeling a little "special" about themselves

I just enjoy the music

when you lose appreciation for the music, it's easy to remember that Steve Perry is a dick

I wouldn't know Steve Perry's a dick, because I don't care.

Only reason I know the Van Halen brothers are complete dicks, is because they ran off every singer they ever had.  If you meet one asshole in the morning, you met an asshole.  If you're meeting assholes all day long, YOU'RE the asshole.

Turns out Eddie and Alex are the asshole.

But I still don't care, because Van Halen kicks ass.

Man if that's what Mr. N thinks of Steve Perry, I'd really hate to hear his thoughts on Geddy Lee...
Lee has talent and wouldn't petition the bands fans as a crooner

Eh, your whining about Steve Perry was about how high his voice is.  Steve Perry is just holding Geddy Lee's beer in that department so complain about something else Rip Wan Winkle.

If only that were factually accurate.

Steve Perry needed hip surgery, which the band wanted him to have so they could do the tour they had planned.  He made a medical decision not to have the surgery at that time, it precluded him from doing the tour, and the band decided they needed to forge ahead, so they went their

From what I know, I don't even call it dickishness.  Very few people in the world could survive each other for months on a tour bus, probably including us nice folks here.
