OK, here's song that some of you old fogies might like.  It's not brand new music, this song's maybe 10 years old, but it's more recent than the 80s/90s, and this band is still making new music that's the same in style and instrumentation, so I think they qualify as a "modern band" making what is, in my opinion, very good music.

This song features real live actual instruments.  Real live electric guitars and electric basses for @Honestbuckeye and @847badgerfan .  Real live drums for @MikeDeTiger and also what I consider to be unusual chords and progressions compared to much pop music.  And there's even a real live orchestral string section for, well, all of us I guess.  Also the singing is real and not autotuned.

The talking intro ends and the song begins right around the 1:00 mark.

I bought Alter Bridge's debut album back in 2004, but I haven't kept up with them much since.  

They're basically Creed, with Scott Stapp swapped out for Myles Kennedy.  

Well, no basically about it.....that's exactly what they are.  Which was okay with me, because I was not a Creed hater.

Yup, I liked Creed too. 

In my experience the people who hated Creed were mostly gatekeeping douchebags.  I got no time for assholes like that.
