I love me some Whitesnake but it doesn't really follow the pop/techno/synth vibe of the other songs?

It's 80's, and as I mentioned, I had an 80's binge this weekend.

My 80's binges do not discriminate by genre, so a buncha stuff is still rolling around my brain.

There might be some 80's R&B forthcoming, pending a sample from this weekend ear-worming me today.

In the meantime, maybe this is more on-brand for the previous offerings:

No worries.

Back in college I was in a few bands that regularly played throughout southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas.  Lots of bars and some festivals...that kind of thing.  The repertoire had to stay pretty tight in the Hendrix/SRV/ZZ Top/Stones/BB King vein or the natives tended to get restless.  We tried to sneak in some Top 40 stuff and some of the women liked that but mostly the crowd's disdain was palpable.  Inevitably, whether you were playing what they wanted or not, some drunk biker would yell from the back,

"GIMME SOME SKYNYRD!"

to which some other drunk bar-hound would answer,

"FREE BIRD!!!"

The lead guitarist would sometimes throw up the middle finger in disgust and mutter under his breath "I got your free bird right here."

Anyway, I figure that's kinda your role here.  When we go synth-pop, you're the drunk in the back yelling Free Bird.

In honor of those days, and because I closed roughly a bazillion gigs with this, and because it's now on my mind........sigh....

I didn't think ANYONE ever wanted to hear a band play free bird
it was always a joke when someone yelled that

In Southern bars, they ain't joking.

On the plus side, all that BB King/SRV blues and Hendrix/Skynrd rock stuff was pretty fun to play, even if it's not my go-to for frequent listening.  And the gigs paid pretty well, I thought, for a college kid.  We also got all the alcohol we wanted, on the house.  For some of the guys I played with, that meant a lot more than others of us.  Myself, I was banned from drinking on the job because they found out I didn't drink because I like alcohol and only had two modes, sober or shit-faced.

I thought I sounded pretty good shit-faced.  My bandmates said they could tell a difference.

I still have the the original "Pronounced" Album from '73,first 33 I ever bought. But long ago my Pioneer/Marantz set up mailed it in,prolly form spinning discs too much when getting home from school/football/work/mayhem. It's still a classic along with "Stairway to Heaven" the 1st "HITS" really that went past the 6 minute mark.Well those and "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" by Iron Butterfly also "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" by Arlo Guthrie - usually played on old school FM channels across the country on Thanksgiving morning. All of those could fall into the catagory of OPUS  - the classics never get old
