It's on my mind because the ice cream man just drove by my house.  I'm guessing he's headed to an event at the elementary school a couple blocks away, for their last day of school.  And then starting tomorrow, he'll make the rounds pretty much every day until September.

Cowboy Song Thin Lizzy
I think I posted that a while back underated Album for sure. Ya might like this if a Lizzy fan

https://youtu.be/22zp5QBTrxQ
from "The Philip Lynott Album", described as an underappreciated gem with Mark Knofler. Phil said in an interview that he was really drunk when he recorded this song. He could not get the right mood and feeling in the song, so he went out drinking and went in the studio 5 O´clock in the morning. Lynott/Knofler also conspired on "Kings Call" together about Elvis dying. Midge Ure(guitarist) played on this also he co-wrote/produced "Do They Know It's Christmas?" along with Bob Geldof. URE played in 2 different stints with Lizzy as did Gary Moore - talented group when not fighting/disagreeing with each other. Ure turned down an offer to join the Sex Pistols in '75,HA.

BTW RIP Rick Derringer

Love that song, and that's a great version of it.  The fingerpicking is so fine, and it also moves through multiple time signatures, making it complex and interesting.

Well, I love about 9/10 of that song.  I've never liked the awkward brass break that occurs at the 1:12 mark in the clip above.  I'm all for introducing a secondary theme but that one is just so clunky and misplaced, it doesn't mesh with any of the rest of the piece in tone or style.  It's jarring and not in a way that's intriguing or positive.  JMO obviously.

But I'm willing to overlook it, because the rest of the song is so good.

Here's one of the original versions of it from the original artist, Mason Williams.  Who was a comedy TV screenwriter on the Smothers Brothers and SNL, incidentally...
