Oklahoma test results for COVID-19 will no longer be shared publicly, with the Sooners set to begin the regular season this week, coach Lincoln Riley announced Tuesday.

"I think we're to the point now where we're playing games and obviously any active case or contact trace is going to have game repercussions," Riley said. "So, just like we would with an injury, we made the decision to not broadcast that. I know we've been probably the most transparent school in the country up until then, but you don't want to give your team a competitive disadvantage, so we're not going to do that."

no racial eyes of Texas song???
They'll play it over the soundsystem without any threat of drum majors refusing to conduct it.  Heck, it might even convince them there's no need to risk a band protest at all, and just disband the band completely.

I enjoy the band. I don't want to re-pick an old scab, but I do hope we can proceed eventually with the "Eyes" in a non-oppressive light.

I love the band.  Heck I was in marching band for all 4 years of high school, I'm a complete band nerd.

But if they decide to make political statements by not playing the school's alma mater, then they can join the scrapheap of other discarded things in college football like leather helmets and the flying wedge.  Their primary purpose in being inside the stadium, is to play the school's songs.  If they're not going to do that, then they're unnecessary.

Caden Sterns, who was largely positive about the university's response to players' requests for a more inclusive campus environment, said he will not be singing "The Eyes of Texas" -- the alma mater -- which has come under scrutiny.

To be fair, many and perhaps most of the players don't actually sing it.  They hold up the Hook 'em handsign, and face the crowd or band, as the band plays the song.  Most of them aren't moving their lips, rather they're enjoying the serenade.

If he doesn't want to sing it that's fine with me.

If he wants to shout down others that do want to sing it, that's not fine with me.
