Somehow MSU's womens soccer coach was allowed to retire following 30 years and 4 NCAA tournament appearances.  I wish I had that kid of job security.

They hired Grand Valley State's coach, who has done very well at the D2 level

Hosler, who concluded his seventh season as head coach of the Grand Valley State women's soccer team this spring, posted the highest winning percentage of any coach in Laker history, led GVSU to three NCAA Championships, five NCAA title game appearances and reached at least the Elite Eight in six seasons (there was no Division II NCAA Tournament in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). He leaves GVSU with an overall record of 144-12-6, the best winning percentage in all of NCAA Soccer during that span, and a 63-2-2 mark in GLIAC play.

An MSU golfer won the US Amateur today.  Granted, once he got an exemption into next year's Masters, everything else was gravy

Granted it's one game, and it's Detroit Mercy, but considering I think they only won 1 game last year, a 4-0 win, where 2 transfers and a true freshman scored, is a positive sign

Does it matter?

Most Olympic sports had a condensed spring season only anyway. We are back to a normal schedule this school year

8 of the 9 Big Ten field hockey teams are ranked in the top 18 nationally by Massey.  Only Indiana (#37) is outside that

Former Husker Jordan Burroughs claimed a fifth world wrestling title Monday at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships in Olso, Norway. The victory in the men’s freestyle 79kg final came just months after the 2012 Olympic gold medalist missed out on a berth to the Tokyo Olympic Games.

In Monday's final, Burroughs defeated Iranian Mohammad Nokhodi, 5-1. Burroughs took an early 3-0 lead with a double-leg takedown followed closely by another double.

The gold medal ties Burroughs with John Smith’s U.S. freestyle record of six World and Olympic gold medals combined. Burroughs previously won world titles in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017, in addition to his Olympic triumph in London.
