Gotta admit Trubisky is a disappointment.Played lites out in HS ball here in Ohio took his team to the state final and really delivered in crunch time.He was accurate, made all the throws and had all the measurables just hasn't transferred to the pro game over all

the 69 birds had a pretty solid line-up

Eh... I have high confidence in the consistency of the Chicago Bears...

...they could have ruined Mahomes or Watson just as badly.

This. More so Mahomes than Watson. I feel like Watson would’ve been a good player almost anywhere- probably not as good as he is now had he gone to Chicago- but still good. Watson was as close to a finished product as it gets coming out of Clemson.

Mahomes had immense talent but needed a lot of work cleaning up his game. No way Mahomes is the star he is now without Andy Reid coaching him up and dialing up that offense and that firepower/weapons KC has.

Situation matters so much to a young player- especially a QB. Tribusky was probably always going to be average at best- but put him in a bad situation like a Chicago and he’s below average. I feel the same way about Sam Darnold.

The Birds also learned to hate the Pirates. That 4-20 game winner squad lost in 7 to the '71 Pirates in the series. Also left at the alter in '79 again by the Pirates

I firmly believe with their massive guaranteed contracts. Many of these guys just quit trying after a few bad years. If they were hungry they'd still be grinding

I would not be hungry with a fat, guaranteed contract.

Trubisky was a potential-over-production pick in the first place.  I found it odd he was drafted that high.
Mahomes' physical tools were evident, but no one was quite sure how much of it was the system at Texas Tech.  A half-dozen other guys put up video game numbers there, too.

Yeah, Trubisky only started one year at North Carolina. And while he put up very good numbers, he didn’t put up earth shattering, record breaking numbers.

Mahomes put up video game numbers but he was probably the first Texas Tech QB to have the evident elite physical traits in terms of size, mobility, and arm strength. He also displayed a lot of sloppy mechanics and footwork and risk taking and some bad turnovers at TT. Something that Andy Reid needed to sit him down for a year and clean up and coach up. Mahomes was clearly more talented than Trubisky- but for whatever reason Trubisky went ahead of him.
