OK so I broke into some more suds a local IPA that I approve of 2nd one I've liked actually. Market Garden Citramax 6.7 abv. A west coast style IPA with citras hops.Reviewed as aggresive and boldy bright - ya go with that. The next frothy grog in the lineup Southern Tier Brewing(NY) Frosted Sugar Cookie Imperial Ale,soft, airy vanilla, sweetness to sprinkle your winter days with joy. That was 8.6 abv

Bob successfully purchased the 2022 Brandlin Estate lot at Premiere Napa Valley auction this past weekend! Named after the Brandlin family, the vineyard was originally planted in 1926 and still grows near the top of Mount Veeder. He is also thrilled about the other new labels coming soon to Archie's wine list!

I've kind of been turned on to Old Fashioneds by my fiance. She can handle her liquor. I enjoy sipping a well-built Old Fashioned every now and then and can definitely distinguish between well built and turrible now.

The OF's I've had are too sweet, for me.  But I like bourbon straight anyway.

On the cruise ship, Woodford was $19 a shot, which is over the $15 limit you get with the beverage package (which we no long get).  But an OF with Woodford was only $14, so "free".  The barman said he didn't understand it either.  Then Bulleit was $14 straight, but a Bulleit OF was $16.

Goofiness.

(The beverage package sounds cool, and they "give" it to you for "free", but if you cancel it you save about $80 a day per person.)  TANSTAAFL.

Azamara's package is $15/day, and it includes Tito's and JW Red.

They lose their ass on me.

Yup, it's the same limit at NCL.  But the cost of the package is way more than we drink, so we don't do it.  I use the cruise to cut down on my drinking anyway.

My wife likes them in part because she doesn't have to cook or clean or anything, just unpack once, and repack at the end.  She does do a bit of light laundry in the sink, but we get one back of laundry "free".

I've tried most of them, and prefer Woodford.

I pay $15/day on Azamara and drink as much as I want. They serve from 9AM until 2 AM at the pool bar. I don't start until 3PM or so.

NCL does that?

Not from what I've heard.

Nope, they have their "unlimited beverage package", which costs about $80 per day, which allows you any drink $15 and under.  They give it to you "free", except when you decline it, the price comes down by quite a bit.

Their bars are open any time I'm around though.  I don't know the hours.

I view NCL as a "slightly upscale cruise line".  They are large and have a ton of cruises.  And we have some status with them now.  When they denied us boarding because my wife tested positive, there was no issue getting all the money refunded, I appreciated that.  I made the mistake of reserving a "club balcony suite" once as a treat, and my wife likes it a lot.  It's larger than a regular balcony suite, and pricier, duh.

I was running a rough tally when we were in France and it costs about as much per day, albeit we were staying at some nicer hotels.
