I switched off the game immediately after it finished, but apparently there was a kerfuffle afterwards with the Argentine players getting chippy.  I'm gonna assume nothing will happen to them but some people on the internet are salty about it.

Soccer is ice hockey on a much larger grass field, minus the constant excitement and lightening quickness. 

Oh, and add a heavy dose of flopping.

For folks who don't like soccer y'all sure spend a lot of time on the soccer thread.

Personally I can't stand MLB-- which is why you don't see me posting on the MLB thread.

Hello everyone. Oh, I see you are enjoying a sporting event. Apparently, billions of people also enjoy this event. Well, I just want you to know that I don't enjoy it. I think it is really important for me to tell you this repeatedly.

I don't dislike soccer, just stating the Final was a  dreadful bore.  

There were no shortage of compelling knockout games,  England v Mexico as an obvious example. 

Of course the SB and CFP are not immune to lousy games.  

For folks who don't like soccer y'all sure spend a lot of time on the soccer thread.

I don't watch much B10 football, but I post here constantly.  

No discussion I've seen here about the red card the Argentine player got near the end of regulation.  I don't watch enough soccer or know nearly enough about the finer rules to have a knowledgeable opinion, but curious what the soccer-followers here thought.  

Knowing nothing more than I do, I thought it was an impressive somersault by a player who was acting, and who was athletic enough to pull it off, and I didn't like the red card.  His leg got hit a little bit for sure, but there was no way he had to go feet-over-ass like that.  He clearly flipped himself.  

So if you get hit like that, is that a good foul(???....penalty?  violation?) that should get a player ejected, or did his acrobatic gymnast-flip fool the officials into thinking it was worse than it was?
