Ever drive down to Miami to see him play? We've thought about driving over.

saw him play in Barcelona at Camp Nou 10 years or so ago when he was in his prime. now that was something. went back couple years later for the museum tour and to go walk on the field at Camp Nou and that was great too.

never really had any desire to go see Inter Miami but that has been in large part bc they have been playing in fort lauderdale out west in some old shitty stadium they put lipstick on a pig over since the expansion team started- not sure if the brand new state of the art billion dollar complex they built down in Miami is even open yet. When that opens I'd love to go check it out.

Like others here- France looked best to me.  But Spain has owned them solidly in this match.

Pretty clinical.

The penalty reminded me of a classic 'rules are rules # stupid targeting penalty and ejection against a DB the. Induced by a wr.   No doubt a clever maneuver by the Spain guy with the French players leg up in the air.

Did not see that coming.  Spain just solid everywhere, and by the next WC they'll have the best player in the world, and hopefully healthy this time

Yup. A complete defensive choke out of Les Blues.

I don't think either England or Argentina has the ability to crack that on Sunday.

A bad thunderstorm could still delay the game due to transportation issues...

There was a great buildup here about this and as yet I have not noticed much of anything around us aside from a few folks wearing uniforms and bars draping large banners outside to watch the WC here.  It's not more crowded somehow.

I understand downtown had some larger events outside the dome.

But any time someone points that out to them, some other helpful Euro jumps in to say, "well, large metal structures and lightning don't mix.  And thunderstorms in the US are no joke!"

Which is of course true, but that's also precisely why large structures like that are thoroughly grounded, isolated, and shielded where necessary.  We don't stop playing indoors when there's lightning.

And then another helpful Euro stops in to say, "Well, it would be dangerous as the fans enter the stadium."

Which is really funny, as if FIFA or anyone else cares about the fans entering the stadium.  TV time slot, viewership, and ratings, are what drive the decisions.

Well I mean, if it delayed the teams and officials and camera crews, then sure.

If it delayed the fans?  Ha.

I recall an SEC basketball tournament in a dome in Atlanta that was 'delayed' and then some by a rather severe storm.
