Also, its FIFA, thinking they are relying on anything other than how they feel is hilarious.

Also, if research shows that the ratings in Europe will be high either way, but moving it to primetime will substantially raise ratings in the Americas makes me MORE sure they will push it into primetime

Is there any data to suggest that a match not involving the USMNT will do better on American TV in primetime vs. during the day?

And also is there any data to suggest that the European audience won't shrink as a result of kicking off at 11 PM instead of 8 PM?  I know that F1 race audiences shrink when they're not broadcast in ideal timeslots in Europe, but admittedly I don't know anything about how international soccer does under similar circumstances.

We were going over some calculations at work one day, and it was an all hands on deck situation.  At like 8 pm one guy said he figured out where the math was wrong.  One of the new associates said he always got the math right.  I said in fairness, we thought he was wrong one time, but it turned out it was math that was wrong.  I won that night

NBC has been selling their Olympic ad inventory based on large ratings for events that start at 7AM CDT, and it sounds like they've been doing a fine job of it.

The little 15 min highlight videos right after the games end on youtube are perfect for me.  It's the absolute maximum amount of soccer I can handle, and I see the action without all the jogging around bits.
