Wisconsin's offense is ranked 73rd coming into the game with Iowa at 386 YPG. Wisconsin was held to 226 yards in the Iowa game.
Iowa's offense was ranked 129th coming into the game with Wisconsin at 262.8 YPG. Iowa was held to 146 yards.
Is there talk in Wisconsin about bringing in a new offensive coordinator?
Maybe if Brian Ferentz would have a soft landing in Wisconsin Kirk would let him go.

Too bad because it would be such an even trade. It would be like walking in two feet of mud.

Even harder to listen to. That Greek dude has got to go. Horrible.

Anyway, for those wanting to pin this one on Mertz, I think you're nuts.

You can pin it squarely on the offensive line. Mertz mostly had no time, and when he did, he made plays.

In addition, WR's dropped plenty of catchable balls. The run game didn't exist. The play calling was horrendous.

Credit Iowa's defense too. They are really good. Wisconsin's is better.

What a waste of great defenses on the part of both teams.

I'm nutz

Every line in your post is correct.

But, Petras had the same issues as Mertz.  No o-line, no running game, worse play calling, receivers with drops.
But, Petras didn't throw a pick, certainly not a pick 6.

Mertz manages what he has to work with as well ask Petras and the Badgers win.

I'm pinning it on Graham

Petras barely had to throw at all - and Mertz doesn't have a LaPorta to lean on.

All of the scholarship pass catching TE's for UW are either out or hurt. A TE didn't even catch a pass yesterday.

Some chatter out there that Mertz is hurt - got hit low (and late) after a throw and hobbled off. Went to the tent and probably got treatment to continue.

Might not play in Lincoln next week.

the couple I sat with in the two Hawkeye bars yesterday really want me to meet them in Lincoln next week for the game

they have tickets they don't think they can sell and know I will give them face value and buy rounds

I was mostly kidding about getting in a fist fight with Hawkeye fans......

the couple are older than I, grew up in Nebraska and live in Omaha - not IOWA.

And they were the ones clapping and cheering when the Badgers made a play yesterday

another reason I won't be going to Lincoln next weekend..........

The Wisconsin game will have an 11 a.m. start and an ESPN telecast.

Special teams tipped the scale. Iowa blocked a punt that led to a TD. Cooper Dejean returned a punt into or near the red zone leading to a score. Generally, a team that wins two of three phases of the game wins the game.
