(7) The Lost Boys vs. (10) St. Elmo’s Fire

(7) The Lost Boys (1987)
Vampires, motorcycles, leather jackets, big hair, the California boardwalk, synthesizers, the Coreys, and an unforgettable saxophone performance make The Lost Boys one of the most visually ’80s movies in the field. Its soundtrack, style, and mixture of horror and youth culture have given it lasting cult appeal.
(10) St. Elmo’s Fire (1985)
Its staying power may be weaker than that of The Breakfast Club or Ferris Bueller, but its Brat Pack cast, fashion, music, relationships, ambition, and young-adult drama make it a valuable mid-’80s time capsule. It represents the uncertain transition from college life into adulthood and professional ambition.
