Which helmet school will be the next to make their CFP debut?

At first I combined this into one poll, but I think it kind of makes sense to break it out, because I think it's sort of two separate questions.

Not a traditional helmet, hence the other poll

texas...  When Texas is close enough to sniff the top 4, there will be a lot of pull to push a storied program with a huge fanbase back into the spotlight.   And the Big12 is not as deep as the other conferences at this time...

Maybe, but they also haven't been particularly close.  I went Michigan, because they are at least knocking on the door.  But I think the sneaky pick is USC.  The Pac 12 isn't good, and I could see a good, not great, USC team going like 12-1 next year, winning the Pac 12, and getting throttled in the 1-4 game.

We've had a million threads on that, and I don't want this to turn into that, so I'll save it for the next inevitable "what is a helmet" thread.

From this list I'd agree with your point on USC, but feel like Penn St is a lot closer than Michigan.

B12 is better and deeper than the PAC, and the ACC by a long shot.

But yeah, I'm going with Texas too.

When Herman took the job I thought they'd be great. But he is not the coach that I thought he was, on or off the field. I didn't have this.

I think Texas and USC have the easiest paths. I pick Texas because unlike USC, they're at least continuing to recruit and have a more stable coaching situation, even if Herman isn't exactly on the coolest seat.

UM/PSU have to get by both OSU and likely Wisconsin, and until I see Ryan Day make a single misstep, I'm not certain I would bet on them.

I debated myself between USC and Penn State. USC has a ton of advantages, but not a great coach. PSU has a great coach with a lot of advantages built in.

Now, if Urban Meyer goes to USC next year, I'm revising this immediately.

I'll take Penn St.

Get Ohio St. at home during a white out and then a bit of luck
