I guess I've only been to 3 bowls.  I lived in Jax and went to the WLOCP many years, but only 1 Gator Bowl.

Yeah I've been to a few Cotton Bowls, a couple of Alamo Bowls, and the Sugar Bowl.

New Orleans is a great place to spend the holidays, no doubt about it.

Let's see if I can list them.

1991 Cotton Bowl: Miami 46 Texas 3.
We thought "Texas was back."  Texas was most certainly not back.  Temps hovered just above freezing all morning, with rain/sleet drizzle.  I think I might have gotten frostbite in my toes.  Absolutely the worst game-attending event of my entire life, and it's not even close.

1995 Sugar Bowl: Virginia Tech 28 Texas 10
We thought "Texas was back."  Texas was most certainly not back.  But, we still had a great time spending almost a week in NEw Orleans.


1998 Cotton Bowl: Texas 38 Miss State 11
We thought "Texas was back."  And, Texas was sort of back.  Jacke $herrill, our former nemesis at A&M, was coaching at Miss State.  Beating the snot out of his team felt really good that year.

2003 Cotton Bowl: Texas 35 LSU 20
Roy Williams absolutely took this game over in the second half, and Mack Brown beat Nick Saban.  Yay.

2006 Alamo Bowl: Texas 26 Iowa 24
I really don't remember much about this game, other than being relieved it wasn't a Loss at the end of the day.  We stayed at my favorite hotel in San Antonio-- The Menger-- and partied on the River Walk for a couple of days.

2012 Alamo Bowl: Texas 31 Oregon State 27
I don't remember much about this one, either.  This was the downhill slide at the end of the Mack Brown era and there wasn't much to be excited about.

And that's all, haven't been to one since 2012.  We're always camping during the week between Christmas and NYD so unless we were gonna play for the NC or something, I don't think it's likely I'd attend another bowl game.

• 1996 (1997) Rose Bowl:  Ohio State 20, Arizona State 17:  Great game and atmosphere.  My Dad, Mom, little brother, and I drove from Ohio to California for the game, great trip.  I was a student at tOSU, brother was in HS.  For the trip we got to see LA and drove up the coast to San Simeon (Hearst Castle).  Along the way (and totally unplanned by us) we got to see Elephant Seal mating season fights.  Apparently people travel from the world over to see this.  These giant male elephant seals fight (sorta like sumo-wrestling because they are enormously fat) and apparently the females just naturally gravitate toward the males with the best beachfront property.  Hearst Castle and Morrow Bay were also highlights of the trip up the coast.  It was a great game and great season marred only by one of Cooper's inexplicable losses to a clearly inferior Michigan team, ugh. 
• 2002 (2003) Fiesta Bowl:  Ohio State 31, Miami, FL 24 in 2OT:  Great game and the old Fiesta Bowl (in Sun Devil Stadium) had a MUCH better atmosphere than the new one.  My brother (student at tOSU at the time) and I (graduate by then) flew to Vegas and drove down to Phoenix where we met up with a guy I had graduated with and went to the game.  Great trip and all and obviously a great game as well. 
• 2006 (2007) Fiesta Bowl / BCSNCG:  Florida 41, Ohio State 14:  I did this one as a single on a package through the alumni association.  It was a fun trip even going alone because I was with a huge throng of fellow Buckeye fans.  The game obviously sucked from my perspective.  Funny story:  People I had met along the way helped paint on my Buckeye Helmet for the game.  By the end of the game the front was totally smudged from me repeatedly smacking my forehead after another boneheaded mistake by my team.  So I got back to the hotel on the bus and walked across the street to a bar.  Bartender looked at me and said "What will you have?"  Without missing a beat I answered:  "You don't have anything strong enough." 
• 2007 (2008) Sugar Bowl / BCSNCG:  LSU 38, Ohio State 24:  NOLA is the best bowl destination I have ever been to.  It is just a great city so it makes a loss more tolerable because at least it is a great trip regardless.  That said, playing LSU in their back yard and losing to them just sucked.  Still a great trip.  My brother and I drove down.  We stayed in Nashville on the way and got to see the Grand Ole Opry so that was fun.  Great food in NOLA!
• 2013 (2014) Orange Bowl:  Clemson 40, Ohio State 35:  This was an ok trip except that I ended up breaking up with my (then) girlfriend whom I took along so I had to drive all the way home from Miami after a bowl loss and with a girl that I had just broken up with.  Yeah, not a pleasant drive home.  Game was great but Ohio State just couldn't cover or tackle Sammy Watkins.  According to the stats online he had 16 receptions for 227 yards but I think it was more like 200 receptions for 5,000 yards.  It sure felt like it.  At least Ohio State scored a lot too so it was a close game of what @OrangeAfroMan would call "twelving".  The teams combined for just over 1,000 yards so there was plenty of excitement.  Plus, the lead changed hands with almost every score. 
• 2014 (2015) Sugar Bowl / CFP Semi-Final:  Ohio State 42, Alabama 35:  Phenomenal trip and game.  I took my (then) girlfriend (now wife).  We drove down.  NOLA is great and even better when your team wins!  On the way we stopped in Tuscaloosa in the middle of the night.  Before that we stopped at the Alabama welcome center at like 1am where there was literally a line of tOSU fans to get a picture at the "Welcome to Alabama" sign.  That was comical.  Then we stopped in Tuscaloosa in the middle of the night and ran into yet more tOSU fans milling around outside Bama's stadium at the Bear and Saban statues.  I mentioned that we drove down but once we got there we did the alumni-association gameday package which came with a fun riverboat trip (the calliope played Hang on Sloopy) and various pre-game activities.  Arriving at the boat at 9am the first person I saw asked if I wanted a bloody mary or screwdriver.  I answered that it was a little early to start drinking.  She said they were included.  I said, "I'll take one of each".  

So I have been to six and Ohio State is 3-3 in them.  I can't complain about that.  I saw them win an NC and saw them win a CFP semi-final and all three wins were GREAT games as was the close loss to Clemson.  The two blowout losses detract from that somewhat, obviously.
