trees are that scare that you'd walk along way just to see one?
maybe if you're a dog.

hell, you can see mountains, canyons, rock formations, and scraggly trees from the scenic overlooks on the highways out there

You barely scratch the surface from the overlooks.

You get back into those slot canyons, and you hear nature instead of road noise.

Plenty of trees up in the mountains.

It keeps me young and able.

I'd be half dead by now if I just lounged around getting drunk all the time.

The retired folk around here all just drop dead as soon as they lose their mobility.

Yep.

One of the Peloton instructors is a woman in her 50s who is/was a competitive cyclist, and runs a series of classes called Sprint Interval Training. Which is based around very short intervals of explosive power. The sort of thing that you push so much effort in a 20 second burst that you're VERY excited for the 4 minute recovery you get afterwards.

She's stated at the beginning of at least one of the classes that a large part of this is to help people who are aging, and specifically to build the strength you need to stop yourself from falling. Because once you get a certain age, it doesn't matter how fit you are... Fall and break a hip and you often decline VERY quickly.

Maintaining your mobility is key.

I mean, look at @Cincydawg --- would he have reached his ripe old age of 173 if he didn't walk so much? :57:

:57:
If I'm working out / being healthy half the time and getting drunk the other half...

...does that mean I'm only about a quarter dead by now? :57:
