If he can't beat this year's crappy Michigan team with this year's Ohio State team . .
There were only 2 "must win" games on the schedule this year.....and Day managed to lose them both - again. Head Coaches sometimes swing/miss on assistants like URBZ did with Zack Smith but he got Brian Hartline in '17.This whole Day narrative was smoke/mirrors in hindsight just look at his resume - coached under Chip Kelly in Philly & SF and one year as a GA under URBZ in '05.

He looked solid with players URBZ procured and coached up but Tyreke Johnson let the cat out of the bag he was a fraud hanging on the Universities & Former HC place in the CFB World. Buckeye Fans got suckered in when the Bucks wacked Booger's Boys by 29 pts in '19 - with Urban's team and RD has left steaming piles since

Thanksgiving weekend crowds are always a bit strange.  Often out of towners, including for some reason a group of Nebraska fans sitting w Cyclones students.

I guess I recall attending some random games on this weekend.
It seemed like there were a lot of Nebraska fans at the Black Friday game in Iowa City.  Guessing some of them decided to watch the game in Ames on their way home on Saturday?

I was musing about coaches who fairly consistently win nearly every game they should, but lose critical games to rivals or strong programs, so they may end up 11-2, but the 2 means the season was ... nowhere close to a championship.

Richt was like that, people accues Franklin of being that way, and perhaps Day could join that group.  You beat inferior teams but lose to teams roughly as good as you or are major rivals.

That 11-2 might look better if you beat your rivals but get upset a couple of times.
Underlined part just described Urban to a T. He often would lose a game or two he had no business losing but man did he kick ass and take names in rivalry games and other big games in general.

man we have some pretty awesome games in the SEC & B1G.

LOL @ ACC and B12 slate.

All I have to say is hook 'em horns. Oh and my money is on James Franklin getting embarrassed and wetting the bed in a big-time top 5 matchup on national tv. It's just kinda what he does.

If someone tried to tell me Michigan would have a total of 62 yards passing and two interception and win, I would have laughed at them and called them crazy.

I actually like the penn state Oregon matchup. I didn’t want to see the Osu Oregon rematch.

Man I'm really pulling for SMU, it would be awesome to see them win the ACC in their first year after literally buying their way into a better conference.

I know SMU has other money, but the one big name guy is really throwing his weight around and pulling in buddies with oil money

Also, rooting for the home state Cyclones, they've never won anything.
Nice of BYU to get the win last night after I went to bed to send the clones to this game - and keep ralphie out!

just looked it up...

Urbs was 16-2 at Florida vs UGA, Florida State, and Tennessee. 7-0 vs Michigan at Ohio State. Dude was an insane 23-2 in rivalry games.

I knew that would get you worked up.  What doesn’t?  😂
So worked up, that I sat at my desk and typed!!!!
