Noon games

Michigan at Indiana, FS1:  Definitely watching this one.  Didn't like how Indiana's offense looked in the first two games, but then no one liked how Spary's offense looked against Rutgers and they still gave it to Michigan, so we'll see.  Penix has a rocket arm, should be interesting to see if they attack down the field like MSU did.  Michigan tyring to get their offense going - should find running easier against the Hoosiers.

Nebraska at Northwestern, BTN: Northwestern quietly in good shape in the West. Nebraska showed some good things against OSU, can they repeat that effort against Northwestern? NW defense is strong, this good be a decent game.

MSU at Iowa, ESPN: Tough to say a lot about what these teams are, other than no way Iowa will put their corners in press man coverage every play.  Can Sparty score anyway?

Arizona State at USC, FOX: Finally the PAC arrives.  USC is thought to be improved, I guess we will see if that has any merit.

Not in the cards today but I'm not sure which is better, a good Reuben or a good Cuban.  I'm pretty sure those are the best sandwiches, though a BLT can make a case.
Reubens win, but it was close as the Cubans took them to OT.

Never cared for a Reuben, but if you put a Cuban in front of me I would get down into a three point stance and just fire off on that thing.

Might make shrimp fried rice this evening, maybe.  I fear I might be turning off the TV around 5:30 PM anyway.

A;; our shrimp are frozen of course but if I cook them from raw they are not bad, the precooked ones are crap.  We had some nice Italian last night on a patio.  I probably need to govern the dining out a bit.

I like a good Reuben about as much as any sammich.  Some are not good though.  Your favorite sammich?

Hmmm.

Well, you have to have good bread of course, that is major, because every sammich has two slices of bread.

I might go for smoked turkey and ham and bacon with spicey mayo and avocado slices and fresh tomator.  I'd call it a STHBSMASFT.

I'll mention again for you 40 somethings how hard it is to regain physical conditioning in your 60s.  Best not to let it lapse, as I did.

I had to stop running after my surgery for two months and really fell off, I'm just not recovering some conditioning.  I'm still limited, no pushups yet.  I have learned the critical nature of warming up and stretching now anyway.  I got an Apple watch for the Bday, as did the wife, and we have fun competing with it.

Picked up some chicken breasts and smoked provolone.  Gonna do a chicken parm.  Trying to decide if I want to do a side of pasta, or make garlic bread to use for a sandwich.

Bigger decision is what to drink today.  It's supposed to hit 82 in my part of Florida.  Might make today a screwdriver day.
Where are you at?

I think a Reuben is probably a more polarizing sandwich. Not sure everyone likes the sauerkraut or the dressing, and a lot of people don't like Swiss cheese. But I like all those things.

It's a lot harder to find any polarizing ingredients on a Cuban.

Italian Beef.
Hard to beat. Am I excommunicated from my Chicagoan heritage for preferring it with cheese?

Don't Cuban's have swiss? The ones I've had were with swiss.

I sometimes do cheese. At the place I used to go, I'd ask for it on garlic bread, dipped, giardiniera and sometimes mozzarella, and toasted.

Hmm, maybe so. I never felt the cheese was itself a dominant flavor in the Cuban so I never noticed.
