This is SOOOOOO tired.
Pretending moderates are far-leftist doesn't make it true.
They're doing it with Biden now, and it's just as nonsensical.
The Democratic primary was a 4-person race:  2 moderates and 2 far-leftists.....Biden & Buttigeg were the moderates, Warren and Bernie the lefties.  We all know this.
Yet, no matter who won was to be demonized as a far-left boogeyman.
.
It's so boring.
I was about to say that this is why the trope of Biden just being an electoral figurehead with the "real" power behind him in the shadows became a thing, but...

thats because Biden is a non issue and the real president is Harris
320 beat me to it.

Glad to see Fro is free to spew his political vomit all over the nonpolitical threads, even though the only reason that we have a political thread is because his hopelessly indoctrinated ass can't help himself.

Fair enough.

Back on topic...

When I was a kid, we didn't worry about political discussions.

We worried about running out of this, which my mom made in great big pitchers she kept in the fridge:

When someone says "X if lib/con", to me it says more about the person than X.

Folks use different tardsticks on such measurements.  Heh, I mistyped, but it makes sense.

Your average European is a lot more liberal than your average American.  That can combine that with a surprisingly outspoken racism as well.

Last night I watched a you tube video as I fell asleep, and then at 4 in the morning my computer just starts blaring some Geico commercial with Dick Vitale where he dumps an entire Gatorade cooler on his own head at the end.

I was 25 before I took an airplane ride.  Air travel was for the wealthy back in the day, pretty much entirely, maybe upper middle class.  It was something in movies, I probably didn't even know anyone who had been on a plane commercially until I was 10.

I wasn't on a plane or had a credit card until I was out of college and had to take a flight for work.

Rental car place required a credit card

Yeah, my only time on an airplane before flying to job interviews in college was the age of 10. My parents took us to Disneyworld/Epcot and Cocoa Beach. Before and after that, the only vacations my family ever took were by car.

whenever something like that would happen and I would ask the company's tech person about he would look at it and say it was FM

finally one day I asked him what FM was and he said it stands for "Fu*king Magic" and nobody could explain it

I was 26 - it was on People's Airlines(Later Continental).Anyway I'm headed down the corridor of the AirPort i didn't know weather to stop for a belt at the bar or a Prayer at the Chapel. They were right across from each other and then I remember the carrier had boarding passes and not assigned seating so I kept on going to the Gate
Suburbia:Where they tear out the trees & then name streets after them.

My first airplane ride was in 1967 on a Boing 707 from Houston to San Francisco

My family never traveled anywhere by plane, always by car, including multiple weeks-long trips to the deep interior of Mexico. First plane ride I ever had was after my junior year in high school, our marching band flew from Austin to Hawaii.
