I'm being an idiot and already starting to fall into the trap and buying the Bryce Underwood hype too early. I was trashing Harbaugh for like 3-4 years on this board for his complete failure to gain any traction in the Underwood recruitment and saying he had to sell his soul to get Bryce Underwood and that of all the recent high profile QB's to come out of the state of Michigan starting with Dante Moore in the '23 class and CJ Carr in the '24 class that Bryce Underwood was THE ONE that Michigan absolutely without question had to get and that he was head and shoulders above those other two as a prospect.

Bryce is just on a different level physically/athletically/size wise and arm talent wise. Kid is a true freak of nature. Off the charts talent.

There is no such thing as recruiting traction.  Just pay him or dont.  Michigan paid him, LSU didn't

It’s tough not to. It’s a combination of him being one of the highest rated prospects ever and how absolutely terrible Michigan qb play and offense were a year ago. A perfect storm.

this isn't exactly true.

Jeem had a mortal blood feud with Underwood's HS coach and refused to patch things up. Underwood and his family were no fans of Jeem either and that wasn't exactly a secret. Michigan was dead in the water there. And Underwood wasn't going to LSU for free- don't get it twisted- when he committed they had a very nice NIL package lined up for him. What changed the entire equation was Sherrone Moore and Michigan actually ponying up and blowing LSU NIL package for Underwood out of the water. Underwood family really liked Moore- he's a young charismatic black head coach- they related to him. They did not exactly relate to the autistic retard weirdo that is Jeem Odd-baugh. Of course the NIL package they threw at him mattered greatly- but if Jeem never left there is no shot in hell Underwood ever goes to Michigan.
