Ya don't consider the Comic Book Super Heroes as "Classic".
Saw about 15 minutes of "Chariots of Fire" and turned off that snooze fest. Can't believe those nutthuggers at the Academy thought it was better than "Raiders of the Lost Ark"
only the beautiful people liked Chariots of Fire I wasnt a fan either

Amazing you have never seen any Jurassic Park movie and Iron Man is pure escapism

You need imagination therapy
Listen,  I've seen every SuperFriends episode and He-Man.    Since having kids, I can count on one hand how many movies I've gone to see for my own enjoyment.  That happens to coincide with the proliferation of Marvel.

Guess we were bad parents cause even with raising 2 children we still had date night

that why they have babysitters

now if you mean that because you had children you lost interest in going to the movies no problem

On The Waterfront is a classic. Marlon Brando as a young and up-and-coming actor... Before he was swallowed by a larger and much less interesting actor.

The problem now is it seems like every move is a superhero movie or an arthouse award-bait movie.

It's either total escapism or absolute art.

We try and watch all of the Best Picture nominees every year, and while every year there are a couple that are good, it's hard to say they are enjoyable.

I would never pay for a babysitter so I can go to the movies.     Concerts, Dinner? Absolutely.    Date night goes on, movies have simply lost my interest

I've never really understood why a movie is a "date".

Let's go somewhere and sit in the dark and look at the same thing without speaking to each other... What's the point in that?

My wife and I occasionally will go see a movie if we both want to see it, but it's the dinner that makes it a date, the movie is just us doing the same thing together in silence.

Not a movie I haven't seen, but a prior generation's iconic movie about the Titanic was 1958's A Night to Remember.

Interesting trivia, Bernard Fox appears in both the 1958 and the 1997 films. In the 1958 film he plays the young lookout, Frederick Fleet who first spotted the iceberg and in the 1997 film he plays Archibald Gracie IV, one of the wealthy passengers.
