putting this here cause it might become a bit political..........

I look forward to politicians working together for the good of the American people some fine day.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday that he will not pass a coronavirus relief bill in the Senate which does not include liability protections.

“We’re not negotiating over liability protection,” he told CNBC as Congress looks to craft a coronavirus relief agreement.

Why would it be important to Dems to be able to bring lawsuits against healthcare workers and businesses?

I'm all for holding China and the WOW liable, but not Doctors, Nurses, healthcare workers, and others.

$100 says the world is at or above 1M covid deaths, as measured by worldometers.info, by the end of Nov 4, GMT.

I'm willing to submit to verification by the moderators here that the loser pay up to the winner, such that our reputations here will suffer if either welches on the bet.
@Mdot21 I'm assuming based on lack of response that you don't want to make this bet, correct?

Great Lakes released their Oktoberfest and I'm looking forward to a few cold ones in the back yard today while watching the Reds

We're nearly at 700,000 reported deaths and it's not August.  And the numbers are rising.

Oh, the bet would be heavily in my favor. So if he accepts, I'll be looking forward to collecting my $100 as a silver lining for a horrible pandemic.

We had lunch yesterday outdoors at a new Italian place near us, it was both very tasty and they have a super nice venue.

Upstairs is basically a bar area with sofas and fire pits (not really in use here yet).

Guys, come on.  Betting on deaths is gross, regardless of what point you're trying to make.

Fair 'nuff.

I look forward to my puppy's GI issues clearing up. It seems to be slowly improving as he ages, to the point where it might just be a sensitive [and rapidly growing] GI tract instead of an actual medical problem.

He's 8 months and >80 lbs at this point.

I also look forward to a beer...

<looks at clock>

...well, crap.

I'm looking forward to a steak dinner at Achie's Waeside with my Husker friend Harry Grimminger and his wonderful wife tonight.

Harry started at left guard in the 1984 Orange Bowl - 2 point conversion game

I assume y'all are eating outdoors, 10' away from each other, fully masked up, and the servers will be taking orders and delivering food by zipline... right?

this is Iowa

inside dining - the servers and staff will be wearing masks

I was there last Friday.  95% of the guests had no masks  and many folks over 65 years of age

I am just looking forward to all of us being to enjoy the things we love and the people we love without this cloud over us.

yes, we will obviously enjoy ourselves tonight

but,............ there will be the feeling of the threat of the virus

I worry when I see so many folks 65 and older out in this great restaurant, that they could be infected there tonight and not be able to survive.
