I was thinking the same watching Billionaires, where they threw in several gratuitous sex scenes that added nothing to the actual plot, and of course they can't say five works without an F bomb.

I personally have up cussing many years back.

i'll echo this.

the words don't bother me. i'm no stranger to them myself at times. and risque topics aren't necessarily off topic either. but when those are the "stars" of the show, it just isn't as funny. carlin, pryor and robin williams are all masters of story telling and fun entertainment. they all used a good bit of language, but it wasn't the point of the joke.
Carlin's most famous bit was literally "the 7 words you can't say on TV."

Not cussing at all makes as much sense as cussing a bunch for no reason.

Having a forbidden set of words you should never say is stupid.  Words exist or they don't.  If I stub my toe, "god dammit" instinctively comes out of my mouth.

Shrug.

I saw a sign at a community center once that read, “The absence of profanity offends no one.”

My favorite comedian is Brian Regan.  I saw him him live several years ago and basically couldn’t catch my breath from laughing for about 90 minutes.  And he’s 100 percent clean.  Not that I seek that out because there are plenty of raunchy comedians I love, but I think it’s harder to be that funny and still be clean.

And I loved the Seinfeld show.  To this day I still have a couple of friends and we’ll just randomly texts each other quotes from that show.
I love everything you said here. My wife and I have seen Brian Regan twice live and he was great. We truly laughed the entire show and it was that deep laugh that doesn’t come often. He’s a very underrated talent in my book and probably my #1.

my brother and I text Seinfeld quotes to each other consistently as well. Our parents are in their mid 70’s and they have truly become Mr and Mrs Seinfeld.

best stand up I've ever seen live was Chapelle. And that is not even close. This was right after he quit his show, and he was being accused of all kinds of crazy things, but he was normal as can be, and I've never laughed so hard in my life. Bill Burr was excellent as well, saw him.

Chapelle would be my #3 after Carlin and Pryor. His show is still the greatest sketch comedy show of all-time in my opinion. He did more fall out of the chair laughing til I'm crying sketches in two seasons than SNL has done in all it's season combined. Quality over quantity, any day of the week.
