not even going to attempt to rank Michigan. Need to see that defense first after all them losses to grad/NFL and which QB will actually get the starting job.

OSU
UW
MSU
Iowa
UM
MN
PSU
PU
NU
IL
RU
MD
UNL
IU
Please use the numbered list format, it makes it much easier to input into my spreadsheet.

FWIW:
When I enter this into my spreadsheet I typically go down my spreadsheet, see the team name, then look a the voter's post and enter their vote for that team.  I can't do that when your list isn't numbered so I have to do it the other way around and start at the top "1" for the first team you listed, then go find the second team you listed, "2" for them, etc.  It takes a lot longer that way.  Also, I have a built-in double-check function.  1+2+...13+14=105 so the spreadsheet is set up to add up each voter's 14 votes and check that the sum is 105.  That is how I catch instances of people skipping a number or whatever (see @TyphonInc )

1. Michigan - gotta go with the champ till given a reason to drop them
You are the only one so far who believes this.  Everyone else has looked at their losses compared to Ohio State's and come to the conclusion that tOSU should be #1.
7. Northwestern - way to rub salt in the wound wildcats.
7. Minnesota
8. Purdue
9. Illinois
11. Maryland
You have two #7's and no #10.  For the time being I am assuming this portion of your rankings should read:
  • #7 NU
  • #8 MN
  • #9 PU
  • #10 IL
  • #11 UMD

  • Ohio State - Most talented team. If the Defense is any better than last year and the offense at least is as good, they may meet their team goals. We shall see.
  • Michigan - I debated putting them here with all of the players that they lost from last year. Also, the old saying that if you have 2 QB's, you don't have any. However, with their first 3 games on the schedule, I think this is just an audition so that may not be an issue.
  • Penn State - I think someone else eluded to the fact that Sean Clifford is still the QB and we know what that looks like. They did get some pretty good recruits that may help the offense and you know the defense will be tough.
  • Wisconsin - Hard to rank this team. If they find a QB, they will be a hard team to beat.
  • Michigan State - Debated putting them ahead of Wisconsin, but I just don't have faith in them yet.
  • Minnesota - Going out on a limb here. Most experienced QB in the B1G and got their RB back. If he is healthy, they could challenge for the title in the West.

  • Iowa -  If they ever find an offense, they will win a lot of games. Just not sure they will be competent on O.
  • Purdue - They showed signs of life last year. Can they do it again?
  • Maryland - The should be able to make a bowl this year.
  • Illinois - Still not sold on this team.
  • Northwestern - Did NW win or did Neb just give it away?
  • Nebraska - Are they ready to mail it in already?
  • Indiana - I don't see them competing for much this year.
  • Rutgers - Perhaps they can finish out of the basement this year again.

6. Michigan State
7. Minnesota
8. Purdue
