The officiating in CFB is at embarrassment level.
in light of the recent arrests by the FBI in the NBA, makes me think maybe the mob got their hands in the pockets of P4 football refs….only thing I can think of…it’s that bad.

Dude was clearly offsides. Michigan had a play the next series that had 2 guys blatantly held. I’m not sure if they’re last, but going into last week Michigan opponents were ranked 135 out of 135 in penalties called against them. NCAA is punishing Michigan in other ways

I’ll go back and rewatch it as I saw it live but I thought it was pretty blatant. I’ll happily eat crow if I was wrong.

Well the 2 announcers, and the official they brought in, clearly didn’t think so.
But the egregious PIs that were both MSU 1st downs, and weren’t called.   So bad.
Haynes last TD, big time holding.

But it’s not just this game.  I am flipping channels and I’m seeing horrible officiating in every game.
Wisconsin had 2 clear first downs taken away when they were moving the ball into Oregon territory.
Hell, on one, Fickell threw the challenge flag and the replay showed the guy was almost 2 yards past the line to gain, and they didn’t reverse it.  The announcers and broadcast official were actually apoplectic because it was such a bad call.

On that video Nubbz I would agree then: doesn’t look offsides.

What looks awful is Michigan’s offensive gameplan and their special teams. Good lord

Holding isn’t a thing I guess because the Haynes play there was a hold and there was an absurdly blatant one against MsU right in front of the official. The play ended up amounting to nothing but it makes you scratch your head and ask why some of these aren’t called, especially with the recent things with refs and gambling.
